Responsibilities

The Opportunity We're looking for an experienced Fractional CTO to lead our technology strategy and help align the roadmap as RecruitHub scales. This is primarily a strategic role — you'll provide the technical direction, make the big architectural calls, and ensure our build decisions today create competitive advantage tomorrow. You'll work directly with our Product Manager as a close technical partner — providing the strategic clarity and hands-on AI-era thinking that a growing SaaS business needs at this stage. We want someone who challenges our assumptions, brings a strong point of view, and can be the trusted technical voice of the business with investors, partners, and the team. What You'll Own – Partnering with the Product Manager to shape and align the technology roadmap — translating product vision into sound technical strategy – Leading our AI strategy — deciding where and how to integrate LLMs and AI tooling into the product, and embedding AI-assisted development into how the team works – Owning cybersecurity: assessing our current posture, setting policy, and building secure architecture as the product and user base scales – Making key architectural decisions across our stack — and knowing when to build vs buy – Driving data infrastructure maturity: pipelines, governance, and scalability – Establishing engineering standards, technical debt frameworks, and delivery principles for the team to operate against – Advising on team structure and hiring as engineering headcount grows What We're Looking For Essential: – A track record of leading technology strategy at CTO or VP Engineering level — ideally including fractional or portfolio CTO experience – Experience scaling a B2B SaaS product through significant growth — you understand what investors scrutinise and how to build technical credibility at that stage – Deep, practical AI experience: you've built or directed LLM integrations into real products, and you actively use AI tooling in your own development workflow – Strong cybersecurity credentials — you can assess risk, set policy, and build secure systems from the ground up in a SaaS context – The ability to translate a commercially grounded product roadmap into clear technical strategy — and communicate it to non-technical stakeholders and investors – Deep familiarity with B2B SaaS architecture — you've seen what scales and what breaks – Strong grasp of modern data infrastructure: ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and API integrations – Experience working with lean teams and contractor networks: setting direction without micromanaging delivery Bonus: – Background in recruitment, HR tech, or fintech – Experience building AI-native product features or integrating multiple LLM providers – Formal cybersecurity qualifications or experience working in regulated environments – Existing network of strong contractors or technical hires you can bring in when needed
