Remote US Tax Preparer About the Company: We are a fast-growing U.S. tax strategy and accounting firm that helps profitable business owners legally reduce their taxes, build wealth, and gain financial clarity. Our clients are primarily entrepreneurs and real estate investors who expect proactive tax guidance, accurate filings, and responsive communication. We currently serve a portfolio of approximately 50 clients and are looking for a highly skilled Tax Preparer who can take ownership of client tax matters from preparation through filing and ongoing support. Responsibilities: Tax Preparation & Filing: Prepare and file accurate U.S. federal and state tax returns (individual and business). Ensure compliance with current IRS regulations and tax laws. Review financials and supporting documentation to ensure accurate reporting. Identify tax-saving opportunities and apply appropriate strategies where applicable. Client Case Management: Manage and track client cases across a portfolio of approximately 50 clients. Review financials, prior returns, and ongoing tax situations. Identify discrepancies, missing information, or potential risks. Maintain organized and complete client tax records. Client Communication: Communicate directly with clients via Zoom, email, and other channels. Explain tax filings, positions, and recommendations clearly and professionally. Request and follow up on missing documents. Provide timely updates on return status and tax matters. IRS & Compliance Support: Contact the IRS on behalf of clients when necessary. Handle IRS notices, audits, and correspondence. Represent clients professionally and ensure compliance with all deadlines. Collaboration: Work closely with bookkeeping and accounting team members. Coordinate with internal tax professionals on planning strategies. Communicate issues, risks, or missing information internally. Process & Quality Control: Follow internal workflows and tax preparation standards. Ensure accuracy and completeness before filing returns. Maintain proper documentation across all client files. Suggest improvements to internal processes where applicable. Core Tasks: Preparing and filing tax returns. Reviewing financials and supporting documentation. Managing client communications (Zoom/email). Responding to IRS notices and contacting the IRS when required. Tracking deadlines and case progress. Ensuring compliance and accuracy across all filings. Requirements: Credentials: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) – Required Tax Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. tax law (individual and business). Experience with tax filings, compliance, and IRS procedures. Ability to analyze financial data and identify tax implications. Experience: 3+ years of U.S. tax preparation experience. Experience working with U.S.-based clients. Experience handling IRS correspondence or representation preferred. Software Skills: Tax software (Drake, ProSeries, UltraTax, or similar). QuickBooks Online (preferred). Excel or Google Sheets. Work Style: Detail-oriented and highly organized. Strong communication skills (written and verbal English). Ability to manage multiple client cases efficiently. Reliable and deadline-driven. Candidate Expectations: Availability during U.S. Central Time business hours. Ability to communicate directly with clients. Comfortable managing multiple client cases. Reliable remote work setup and internet. Compensation: $1,500 USD per month (Full-Time) Performance-based bonuses available based on accuracy, responsiveness, and overall contribution.
