🧠 How You Think
You don’t just build what’s asked — you ask why.
You proactively identify edge cases before they become problems.
You care about:
* Clean UX.
* Margin protection.
* Scalability.
You’re comfortable saying:
“This will technically work, but here’s a better way.”
🧼 Code Quality, Handoff & Maintainability (Critical)
Build features that are clear, documented, and easy to maintain.
Clearly communicate:
* What was built.
* Where it lives in the theme.
* How it can be edited or toggled in the Shopify backend.
Prioritize:
* Native Shopify settings (theme customizer, sections, metafields).
* Clean architecture over hardcoded logic.
Avoid implementations that require developer involvement for simple changes.
Ensure all custom work:
* Is modular.
* Is reusable.
* Is scalable.
* Is promo-safe.
Provide simple handoff notes or Loom videos for:
* New sections.
* Custom logic.
* Edge cases or dependencies.
Prioritize clean integrations over hacky or brittle solutions.
Build systems that remain understandable and usable months later.
⚡ Communication & Responsiveness (Very Important)
Fast, reliable communication is expected.
You don’t disappear or leave messages unanswered.
Clear acknowledgment of tasks and messages, even if work starts later.
Proactive updates on progress, blockers, and delays.
Comfortable working in fast-moving environments where quick responses matter.
Slack responsiveness during agreed working hours is required.
We value speed, clarity, and momentum. Silence slows everything down.
🔍 Quality Standards
Features can be turned on or off without code changes.
Copy, images, and logic are editable in the Shopify admin.
Another developer can understand the implementation.
Nothing breaks during promos, tests, or scaling.
🕒 Work Style
Async-first (Slack).
Clear, structured updates.
Comfortable collaborating with designers, Growth/CRO, and other developers.
Able to handle multiple iterations per week.
Proactive, reliable, and accountable.
🚫 Not a Fit If…
You rely only on page builders and apps.
You avoid custom logic.
You need step-by-step instructions for everything.
You haven’t worked on real production Shopify stores.
You’re slow to respond or hard to reach.
