With our powerful and integrated digital tools, expert support, and leading insurance products, we empower advisors to better serve their clients, grow their businesses, and bring the future of the industry to life.We are a high-growth, technology-enabled brokerage backed by $35M from top-tier investors, including Thrive Capital (major investors in OpenAI, Stripe, Instagram, Spotify, Slack, and SpaceX), New York Life, and Northwestern Mutual.We are expanding our Brokerage team to support the rapidly expanding Independent Channel. Reporting to the Chief Distribution Officer, the Director of Brokerage will own this entire advisor segment end-to-end, from strategy to recruiting to revenue performance. This leader will manage, recruit, and develop a team of Brokerage Managers, activate a deep industry network, and build a scalable acquisition funnel that accelerates our national growth.Segment Ownership & GrowthOwn the Independent Channel advisor segment, including recruiting, onboarding, activation, and ongoing growth.Build and execute the operating model for this segment: playbooks, sales scripts, targets, processes, partnerships, advisor experience, etc.Deliver meaningful traction: accelerate Brokerage Manager performance, grow active advisors, and increase revenue contribution.Team LeadershipManage and mentor a team of Brokerage Managers, providing day-to-day support, strategic guidance, and performance oversight.Train and reinforce using Modern Life’s technology to enhance both Brokerage Manager and advisor experience.Own the full lifecycle of our Brokerage Manager team: hiring, developing, and assessing performanceGive senior leadership clear, forward-looking visibility into market trends, funnel health, and emerging opportunitiesRecruiting and Advisor DevelopmentBuild and activate a high-quality pipeline of independent and career advisors through targeted outreach, industry events, and your established network.Expand Modern Life’s reach by turning key relationships into strategic partnerships and revenue opportunities.About You15+ years of experience in life insurance brokerage, distribution, agency management, or advisor growth leadership.Deep, active network across independent agents, career agents, producer groups, or large agencies.Demonstrated success leading teams (directly managing producers, agents, or BMs).Strong communicator and relationship-builder with credibility across advisors, carriers, and internal leadership.Strong operator: pipeline-oriented, disciplined with follow-through, and excited to use technology to solve industry problems. Comfortable with technology, analytics, and modern brokerage workflows (AMS/CRM, case design systems, digital underwriting, advisor enablement tools).Builder mentality: able to create clarity, tighten process, and move initiatives forward in a fast-moving environment.
