Working closely with our colleagues at Bad Robot Productions, our projects unite our extensive network of games, TV, and film industry talent to create original IPs, expansive worlds and tell new stories across all media platforms which are as fun to watch as they are to play.Bad Robot Games is seeking a Senior QA Analyst who is as passionate about the player experience as they are about finding the bugs that get in the way of it. You will be a core part of a small, tight knit QA team on 4:Loop, bringing senior level ownership and craft to everything from test planning to daily playtests.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform both functional and subjective testing and separate the two properlyExecute end to end product testing including black box and exploratory testing methodologiesIdentify defects and write clear and concise steps to reproduce in bug reportsWork alongside the QA team to playtest the game, execute test passes, write bugs, investigate defects, and verify fixesCollaborate effectively with various teams including but not limited to QA, Production, Engineering, Art, and Design to help track down defects and perform investigationsDevelop, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases that provide broad and meaningful coverageTake ownership of specific feature areas or test domains, serving as the subject matter expert for those systemsProactively identify gaps in test coverage and surface them to QA leadershipContribute to the improvement of QA processes, documentation, and workflows in a fully remote environmentValidate builds for daily playtests and other internal testing eventsAssist with dev kit setup and bug replication across PC and PlayStation platformsKEY QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of experience testing games or equivalent experience in a professional QA roleAt least one shipped AAA title on PC and PlayStation built in Unreal Engine, with a credited QA roleDeep experience with black box, white box, and exploratory testing methodologiesExperience writing and executing test plans with broad and meaningful coverageExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear, actionable bug reportsSkilled troubleshooter with the ability to isolate, investigate, and clearly document complex defectsStrong communication skills suited for a fully remote development environmentExperience with Jira or equivalent bug tracking softwareSolid understanding of game development life cycles and how QA fits within themExperience testing across multiple platforms, with a focus on PC and PlayStationAll of our roles require up to 10% air travel. Examples include Studio/Team Offsites, Team/Studio Events, etc.BONUSESExperience working directly in Unreal Engine for bug reproduction and investigationFamiliarity with automated testing tools or frameworksExperience testing online multiplayer or live service gamesExperience working in a fully remote studio environment through a full release cyclePassion for games across a wide variety of genresFamiliarity with PlayStation Technical Requirements Checklist (TRC) processes and what it takes to achieve certificationExperience executing TRC test cases and documenting results in preparation for submissionPrior involvement in a PlayStation certification submission cycle on a shipped titleOur ranges are based on California market rate regardless of work location in the US.
