The role:We are seeking an Associate – Actuary to join Augment Risk. This role offers strong exposure to both the analytical and transactional sides of the business, with a focus on structuring and placing reinsurance programmes and delivering efficient capital outcomes for clients.You will work closely with brokers and clients, supporting deal execution while contributing to portfolio analysis, pricing, and strategic advisory. The role also provides the opportunity to support the development of internal models, tools, and the broader technology strategy, while mentoring junior team members.Key Responsibilities:Support the structuring and placement of reinsurance programmes, focusing on optimal and efficient capital solutions for clientsAnalyse client portfolios to inform pricing, structuring, and strategic recommendationsPrepare clear, concise, and high-quality analytical materials for client discussions and market engagementCollaborate with brokers, clients, and reinsurers to execute transactions and respond to queries in a timely mannerProvide insights on portfolio performance and support ongoing client advisory workContribute to the development and enhancement of actuarial models and analytical toolsSupport the development of the team’s technology and data strategyManage, mentor, and develop junior analysts, including reviewing work and supporting their technical and professional growthSupport ad hoc analytical and strategic projects as requiredExperience:Minimum 5 years’ experience in actuarial or related analytical roles within the reinsurance/insurance space.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint essentialProgression through actuarial exams is highly desirableStrong programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL, or similar) desirableUnderstanding of reinsurance structures, pricing, and capital management is advantageousExcellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and conciselyAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detailCollaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across internal and external stakeholdersExperience mentoring or supporting junior team members is a plusWhy work for us:We will provide you with the opportunity to be inventive and innovative, we love challenging industry norms.You will work in a multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating closely with talented individuals within a flat structure.You will be trusted and encouraged to take ownership and accountability.We adopt a work from anywhere approach.
