This position is a contract role with full benefits and competitive pay.About the RoleFMLA: ExemptPeregrine Team is seeking an experienced HR Consultant to deliver high-impact HR advisory services in a dynamic environment. This role will act as a strategic partner to leadership, providing guidance across a broad range of HR functions with a strong emphasis on employee relations, compliance, and union engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a strategic advisor to leadership on HR policies, practices, and risk mitigationPartner with leaders to assess organizational needs and provide recommendations on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategyProvide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective actionsAdvise on union-related matters, including interpretation of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), grievance processes, and labor relations strategyEnsure compliance with federal, Washington state, and local employment laws, proactively identifying and mitigating riskAnalyze HR data, trends, and metrics to inform decision-making and provide actionable insights to leadershipSupport and guide performance management processes, including coaching strategies, development planning, and performance improvementAdvise on leave of absence, accommodations, and related compliance (e.g., FMLA, ADA)Lead or support HR audits, compliance reviews, and process assessments to identify gaps and recommend scalable solutionsPartner with stakeholders to drive change management initiatives, including restructures, policy implementation, and organizational transitionsFacilitate training sessions and provide guidance to managers on HR best practices and leadership effectivenessCollaborate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., legal counsel) as needed to support business objectivesProvide recommendations to enhance HR programs, policies, and overall employee experienceQualifications5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR advisory or consulting capacityRequired: Experience working in a unionized environment, including collective bargaining agreement (CBA) interpretation and grievance handlingStrong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulatory compliance at the federal, state, and local levels (Washington preferred)Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, including conducting investigations and managing complex, sensitive situationsAdvanced proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise stakeholders at all levelsHigh level of discretion with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrityStrong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environmentBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferredSHRM-CP, PHR, or other relevant HR certification preferred
