Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster. We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services. If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.About This RoleThe Infrastructure Design Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing data center whitespace environments — the operational computing areas where servers, storage, and network equipment are deployed. This role ensures whitespace layout, power distribution, cooling strategy, and cabling infrastructure support high availability, scalability, and operational efficiency. The engineer partners with Facilities, Electrical and Mechanical teams, and Cloud Infrastructure Architects to ensure whitespace designs align with current and future cloud workload requirements. What You'll Be Working On:Design whitespace layouts including rack placement, aisle configuration, equipment density, and airflow strategyCollaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to integrate power distribution and cooling infrastructure into whitespace environmentsOptimize whitespace designs for capacity, scalability, redundancy, airflow performance, and energy efficiencyCoordinate with network and cloud teams to ensure structured cabling, connectivity, and fiber management meet performance requirementsValidate redundancy strategies (N+1, 2N) and ensure designs align with SLA requirementsEnsure whitespace designs comply with industry standards including TIA-942, Uptime Institute guidelines, ASHRAE recommendations, and applicable codesApply local building codes, safety regulations, and company design policiesDevelop CAD/BIM drawings, schematics, and 3D models of whitespace environmentsCreate capacity planning models to forecast growth, utilization, and infrastructure scalingMaintain technical documentation supporting operations, maintenance, and audit requirementsSupport construction, installation, commissioning, and deployment activities for new data center environmentsParticipate in design reviews, risk assessments, and site inspectionsProvide technical guidance to internal teams, contractors, and external partnersEvaluate new technologies, modular designs, and industry best practices to improve performance and efficiencyConduct post-occupancy evaluations to validate design outcomes and identify improvementsWhat You’ll Bring to the Team:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Data Center Engineering, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in data center design, preferably in cloud or hyperscale environmentsUnderstanding of data center power distribution systems and UPS architecturesUnderstanding of cooling systems and HVAC infrastructureExperience with structured cabling systems and network connectivity designExperience with whitespace layout optimization and equipment density planningProficiency with CAD/BIM tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, or equivalent platformsKnowledge of industry standards including TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, and ANSI/BICSIAbility to collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, and deployment teamsExperience supporting multiple projects simultaneouslyWillingness to travel to data center sites as requiredBenefits:Competitive compensation and equity packagesRestricted Stock UnitsPaid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programsComprehensive health, dental & vision insuranceEmployer contributions to HSA accountPaid parental leavePaid life insurance, short-term and long-term disabilityProfessional development & tuition reimbursementMental health & wellness supportCommuter benefits (parking & transit)Cell phone stipend401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salaryVolunteer time offGlobal travel insurance & emergency assistanceDaily meals allowanceAdditional perks & programs specific to locationCompensation RangeCompensation will be paid in the range of up to $140,000 -$170,00 + Bonus.
