We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a world leading technology company at their manufacturing technology centre in Greater Munich Metropolitan Area.We are seeking a highly experienced engineer to for the development of next-generation, high-precision industrial modules. In this position, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end engineering lifecycle for complex systems, with a primary focus on achieving sub-micron (1µm) accuracy for 24/7 high-volume manufacturing environments.As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer your responsibilities will include:Systems Engineering Lifecycle: Apply a comprehensive engineering mindset to oversee all phases of development, from aligning with initial client requirements to the final qualification and deployment of production equipment.Module Development: Lead the design and refinement of advanced equipment modules, ensuring they meet rigorous precision and reliability standards for continuous operations.Process Integration: Utilize deep knowledge of core manufacturing technologies such as wafer-level photonics, fiber/free-space optics, precision die-attach, and data storage production to translate process needs into detailed design specifications.Technological Innovation: Introduce and integrate novel technologies to substantially boost operational speed and overall system precision.Scaling & Optimization: Collaborate with global headquarters to transfer solutions, optimize designs for volume scaling, and contribute to long-term business and technical strategy.Internal Leadership: Provide guidance to internal teams to build technical capabilities and support the organization's strategic direction.As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer your skills will include:Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field.7+ years of experience in precision automation, including a proven track record of holding a technical leadership roleAdvanced expertise in precision engineering, including system-level simulation (thermal, dynamic, and static), motion control, advanced material selection, 3D printing, and sensor integration.Clear history of building precision equipment for semiconductor or photonic Advanced Packaging applications.Comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing ecosystem, bridging the gap between shop-floor realities and high-level equipment supply.Exceptional communication abilities in English, combined with a problem-solving mentality and the intercultural sensitivity required to thrive in a diverse, international setting.
