Avantor is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our science-preparation team. This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to work in a laboratory environment and assist scientists across R&D functions. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for candidates from other industries. If you have a curiosity about science, GCSE Maths & English, and are computer literate, we encourage you to apply! Responsibilities: - Aseptic aliquoting of reagents used in tissue culture & basic media prep - Preventative maintenance, cleaning & documentation of several laboratory instruments - Regularly check chemicals and reagent expiry dates and arrange disposal of any out-of-date material via the accurate waste disposal route - Maintain and coordinate laboratory consumable inventories - Laboratory housekeeping, supervising and keeping communal areas clean and tidy, waste management and specialist equipment user performance checks if required - Provide regular glassware and plastics collection, washing and, autoclaving/ sterilisation services (steam, dry or filtration) for the scientists to use within the laboratories
