You’ll set the strategy and standards for what we publish, and you’ll ensure our work reaches the right clinicians through the channels that matter now (and the ones that are rapidly emerging).The VP of Content owns the full content ecosystem at Eyes On Eyecare—setting strategy and direction across our core pillars (Resources, Glance, Course, and Events) and extending that work into off-platform and emerging channels (social media, partnerships, and future content experiences).Your job is to turn market signals into priorities, priorities into publishing systems, and publishing systems into measurable impact for the profession and the business. If you love high-quality editorial work and you’re energized by the challenge of building content engines and teams that thrive amid platform change, this role will feel like home.Key Responsibilities:Content Vision, Editorial Strategy, and Portfolio LeadershipOwn a proactive, long-range editorial and programming calendar across Resources, Glance, Courses, and Events—setting themes, priority windows, and the “big bets” well in advance based on market signals, internal intelligence, and audience needsContinually raise the bar for what “quality content” means for our brand and ensure the brand is seen as the #1 content platform in eyecare in a world of AI and saturationMake high-level editorial calls on what we cover (and what we don’t), with strong judgment and clear guardrailsVirtual Events Strategy & Educational Programming Ownership (CE/Credit)Own the events portfolio strategy (tentpole CE days + short webinars); decide what we run, evolve, reposition, or sunset based on audience demand and sponsor-market realitiesSet annual timing windows and program direction for each event (themes, learning objectives, track/session mix, OD vs MD positioning), without owning logistics or exact datesSelect and manage program chairs and top-level faculty strategy; establish repeatable programming frameworks that ensure credibility and educational qualityPartner with sales and sponsors to stay “ear to the ground,” align programming with commercial reality while protecting educational integrityAudience Growth and Distribution (Search, Social, Newsletter, and Beyond)Continually refine our channel strategy that drives reach and loyalty across all channels (Resources, Glance, Course, and Events, plus emerging channels)Partner with editorial team members to ensure content is structured to perform in modern discovery (SEO basics, but also AI-driven search and answer ecosystems)Refine data-driven feedback loops: what’s resonating, why, with whom, and how we double downDevelop resilience plans for shifting platform traffic—including the reality of declining traditional Google search performance in many categoriesContent Products, Monetization Alignment, and Brand IntegrityCollaborate with sales and marketing teams to create content programs that maintain high-integrity editorial independence, high-value, and feel innovativeGuide editorial packaging for revenue-aligned initiatives (series, guides, downloads, research-driven content, video channels, event-program integrations)Represent editorial leadership in cross-functional decisions where commercial goals and editorial integrity must be balancedContent Operations, Systems, and Team EnablementBe the key partner & contact for OD and MD Key Opinion Leaders in order to build and scale great programs with their support.Coordinate with Client Services and internal stakeholders on client-connected editorial work (topics, KOLs, timelines, interdepartmental communication)Build and maintain operating systems that make content production predictable, scalable, and high-quality while embracing AI in back-end workflows.Ensure workflow clarity: strategy → ideation → briefs → production → review → publish → optimize/refreshRun recurring ideation and planning rhythms that generate a steady backlog aligned to key themes and prioritiesLead, coach, and develop the content leadership team;
