As a Custom Jewelry Gem Specialist you’ll be at the heart of our gem sourcing process, in charge of finding the perfect stone for each customer. You’ll be our behind the scenes expert, assisting our customer facing teams with all things related to gems.In this role, you’ll be evaluated primarily on your ability to select stones that fit the customer's budget & preferences while meeting our high quality standard. You’ll need to utilize gem knowledge, creative thinking, and independent decision making in order to select the best stones for each customer. You'll be our internal gem expert and expected to educate other team members, answer customer questions/concerns, and handle any issues that relate to our stones.Essential role duties look like:Select the perfect center stone: Use your gem expertise, knowledge of our supplier network, and critical thinking skills to select stone options for our Project Managers to present to the customerProvide gem guidance to our Project Managers, and customersTroubleshoot any quality issues that may ariseFacilitate gem procurement:Coordinate with suppliers & our in office team to order, deliver, and store stonesTroubleshoot any issues that arise due to delays or out of stock itemsPlace additional orders for stones that break in setting etc.Maintain strong supplier relationships:Partner with our gem suppliers in a positive & respectful wayEnsure all invoices are queued for payment, and answer any invoicing questionsAs needed activities:Review our gem estimates & pricing to ensure it is accurate, and cost competitiveIdentify new gem suppliers to partner withPurchase new inventoryTroubleshoot any customer gem concernsUpdate our internal guidance based on project experienceThis is a remote role.Compensation & Benefits:$60,000 - $62,000/yrThis is a full-time role with full benefits (health, vision, dental)401k matchEmployee jewelry discountPaid federal holidays and paid time offStandard business hours, Monday-Friday scheduleQualifications, Skills, & AbilitiesExcellent written communication skills, ability to communicate clearlyExcellent organization skills, and attention to detailJewelry experienceResourcefulness - the ability to make good decisions in the absence of perfect informationGraduate Gemologist degree or previous Gemological Institute of America (GIA) course workPreferred but not requiredProject management experienceExperience in gem sourcingCustomer experience skillsBachelor’s degree from a competitive college/universityInterested in this role but don’t meet all the requirements listed?
