Expedient is hiring a Principal Technologist to craft the vision for Expedient services to meet the needs of their rapidly expanding client base. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in a broad range of technical solutions, with an emphasis on cloud computing, networking, virtualization, security, and automation. This position requires someone with a great level of technical depth across multiple disciplines and a strong desire to explore new possibilities for advancing technology. The Principal Technologist will work directly with clients in consultative pre-sales engagements, design and implement virtualization and container infrastructures, storage products, large-scale software-defined network platforms, and evaluate new technologies. They will also create innovative solutions to solve technology and business challenges, produce documentation of use cases, business and technical solutions, and write reference architecture papers to explain how Expedient services can be used to solve specific business challenges. The successful candidate must have extensive design experience in virtualization, software-defined networking, storage platforms, Kubernetes, cloud native concepts, and automation/scripting. They must be self-motivated, capable of prioritizing and executing multiple high priority initiatives, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The salary for this position is directly commensurate with experience, with an estimated range of $130,000 to $160,000 annually. Responsibilities: - Work directly with clients in consultative pre-sales engagements - Design and implement virtualization and container infrastructures - Design and implementation of storage products – block, file and object - Design and implementation of large-scale software-defined network platforms - Evaluate new technologies and create alpha/beta releases, and determine viability and suitability of existing technologies - Create innovative solutions to solve technology and business challenges/needs - Produce documentation of use cases, business and technical solutions, and overall technology concepts - Write reference architecture papers to explain how Expedient services can be used to solve specific business challenges - Present to and solicit feedback from sales, marketing and operations teams
