Responsibilities
The Developer is a key member of the Product Development Team. Working with the Product Owner, the Developer implements software designs. The Developer uses available development tools to create functional implementations of software.As a Developer you will be expected to design and implement solutions that result in high quality, well documented and unit testable source code. You will be required to meet all coding standards for your project. You will be expected to provide accurate scoring and/or work effort estimations, risk assessments and participate in schedule development.Developers may be asked to lead improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and increase R&D effectiveness. This includes performing code and design reviews, quality audits, design audits, leading group projects.In addition to your development responsibilities, you will liaise with other teams, including Technical Support, Documentation, Quality Assurance, Product Line Management, and Conversions. A key responsibility of a Developer is to provide technical support when needed. You may be required to lead troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis efforts, working directly with customers to diagnose and fix product performance issues.ResponsibilitiesDevelop new features and/or extend existing code and functionalityPerform component, feature, system and/or product analysis and modelingCreate unit test plansResolve product defectsDesign and/or recommend changes in data structures, business objects, UI elementsParticipate in and provide input to design, release and sprint planning activitiesPerform software testing using specified procedures and toolsWrite supporting documentation including test plans, technical specifications, feature descriptions, class/object descriptions, and in-code commentingWork with Quality Engineers and Technical Support teams to diagnose and troubleshoot product related issuesDevelop and maintain intimate technical knowledge of our products, data structures, utilities and toolsPerform Root Cause Analysis on defects and/or other issuesLead and participate in code, design, and test reviewsLead R&D and product improvement initiativesAdhere to all development guidelines, policies and proceduresRequirementsBachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience7 years programming/analysis activities in a business environmentMinimum of 5 years experience with Microsoft C++Experience with ISAMExperience with Agile DevelopmentExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsIndividual must be self-managing, self-motivated and highly energeticExperience developing desktop applications for Microsoft Windows operating systemsExperience with database design concepts and SQLAbility to effectively interface with customers and all levels of employees.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Preferred skillsExperience with a relational database like SQL ServerExperience with C# and .NetExperience developing Windows Form applicationsPersonal Skills and PreferencesMust be detail oriented.Ability to multi-task on several active projectsAbility to adapt to changing priorities.Focused on results.Action oriented, follows through on commitmentsStrong planning and organizing capability and preferenceFocus on teamwork, able to help teams work togetherCommitted to a zero defect environmentAbility to lead and motivate othersComfortable with customer interactionBenefitsWork remotely Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week (no weekends)Did we mention it's REMOTE?!!
