Araways is hiring Remote full-time C2C contractual Senior Real-Time Data Engineer (Cube.js & Apache Pinot) for 6-12 months to lead the architecture and development of a customer-facing, high-concurrency analytics engine for a high-volume Sales Engagement Platform processing millions of daily events.Key ResponsibilitiesSemantic Layer Development: Utilize Cube (Cube.js) to construct and maintain a unified semantic layer for complex SaaS metrics (e.g., Conversion Rates, Attributed Revenue), ensuring pre-aggregations, multi-tenant security contexts, and account-level data isolation.Low-Latency Architecture: Design and optimize a high-concurrency analytics stack serving thousands of concurrent users, achieving sub-300ms dashboard widget load times.Real-Time Data Ingestion: Build scalable streaming pipelines moving data from PostgreSQL (via Debezium/CDC) and event streams (Kafka/Kinesis) into Apache Pinot.Performance Engineering: Optimize Pinot tables, indexes, and Cube aggregations for low-latency query execution.API Strategy: Expose semantic models via REST/GraphQL APIs, collaborating closely with Frontend teams to deliver seamless data visualizations.Core Requirements7+ years of core software and data engineering experience.Semantic Modeling Depth: Expert hands-on proficiency with Cube (Cube.js)—including pre-aggregations, security contexts, and tenant isolation configurations.OLAP Expertise: 3+ years of production experience with Apache Pinot (or ClickHouse / StarRocks).Streaming & Database Engineering: Hands-on experience with Kafka, Kinesis, Debezium, or Flink, alongside deep PostgreSQL query optimization and CDC.Software Engineering: Strong proficiency in Node.js or Python for building scalable backend services, backed by advanced SQL mastery.Bonus PointsAnalytics experience within CRM or SalesTech ecosystems.Open-source contributions to Pinot or Cube.js projects.Infrastructure automation experience (Terraform, Kubernetes) for data clusters.If you are a master at building low-latency Semantic Layers using Cube (Cube.js), tuning Apache Pinot / ClickHouse, and handling real-time streaming architectures, and Interested in this position, then plz DM your resume.
