Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead advertiser acquisition and revenue growth specifically within the Home Improvement vertical. This is a revenue-generating closing role for someone who understands how to sell performance marketing solutions to U.S.-based home service companies, agencies, aggregators, and contractor networks. You will be responsible for converting qualified opportunities into long-term advertiser relationships while helping Ray Advertising expand its footprint in one of the fastest-growing U.S. sectors. The Business Development Manager is accountable for closed revenue, advertiser retention, and growth — not just activity.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Ownership & Deal Closing (Primary Responsibility):
- Own the full sales cycle from qualified meeting to signed agreement.
- Conduct discovery calls with home improvement companies and agencies.
- Present Ray Advertising’s value proposition: qualified calls, exclusive leads, scalable campaigns, measurable ROI.
- Negotiate pricing models including Pay Per Call, CPL, CPA, or custom volume agreements.
- Close new partnerships with contractors, franchises, lead buyers, and enterprise advertisers.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
- Success is measured by: Closed revenue, advertiser retention, average deal size, pipeline conversion, and recurring monthly billing.
Pipeline & Account Growth:
- Manage a healthy pipeline sourced by SDRs, inbound leads, and referrals.
- Maintain deal momentum and accurate revenue forecasting.
- Coordinate onboarding with internal operations teams.
- Grow advertiser accounts through upsells, cross-sells, and expanded geography/service lines.
- Maintain long-term client relationships for retention and renewals.
Home Improvement Market Expansion:
- Identify and close advertisers in sectors such as: Roofing, Solar, HVAC, Plumbing, Water Damage / Restoration, Pest Control, Remodeling / Renovation, Windows & Doors, Landscaping, Foundation Repair, Home Security.
- Build relationships with: Marketing agencies, Multi-location contractor groups, Franchise operators, Lead buyers, National home service brands.
CRM, Reporting & Forecasting:
- Maintain accurate CRM records (HubSpot, Pipedrive, or similar).
- Track deal stages, close rates, Gross Profit generated, and forecasts.
- Report on pipeline health and revenue performance.
- Ensure clean sales data and transparency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with SDRs to improve appointment quality.
- Coordinate with compliance, call operations, and campaign teams.
- Provide feedback to leadership on pricing, market demand, and advertiser needs.
- Help optimize onboarding and retention processes.
Required Qualifications:
- 4–8 years of Business Development / Sales / Account Executive experience.
- Proven record of closing B2B deals and hitting revenue targets.
- Experience selling lead generation, Pay Per Call, digital marketing, or agency services.
- Strong understanding of ROI-based selling.
- Experience with U.S. clients and consultative sales cycles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Home Improvement / Home Services marketing.
- Existing network in roofing, solar, HVAC, plumbing, restoration, or contractor space.
- Experience selling to agencies or lead buyers.
- Familiarity with call tracking / CPL / CPA models.
- Remote work experience in fast-paced sales teams.

Work Details:
Employment Type: Full-time (W-2).
Location: United States (Remote).
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, aligned with PST business hours, with flexibility based on advertiser needs.
Reports to: Head of Sales / Revenue Leadership.
Compensation Structure:
Base Salary: $50,000 – $75,000 (based on experience).
On-Target Earnings (OTE): $90,000 – $150,000+ (performance-based commissions).
Commission: Uncapped and performance-driven.
Commission Structure:
Base Commission: 5% – 7% commission on Gross Profit (GP) generated.
Commission Accelerator (Performance-Based):
Monthly Gross Profit:
- 0-$20,000: 4% Commission Rate.
- $20,001 – $40,000: 5% Commission Rate.
- $40,001 – $60,000: 6% Commission Rate.
- $60,001+: 7% Commission Rate.
Commission Threshold:
- Commission is activated when monthly GP ≥ $20,000 Overall.
Ramp Period (First 60 Days):
- Commission activates at $10,000 GP threshold.
- After 60 days → standard $20,000 threshold applies.
Retention Bonus:
- After 3 consecutive months of active billing: Additional +1% commission on that client’s GP.
Performance Expectations:
KPI:
- Deals Closed: Minimum 4, Target 6, Top Performer 8+.
- Monthly Gross Profit: Minimum $30,000, Target $60,000, Top Performer $100,000+.
