Sterling is seeking a Director of Global Payroll to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the strategic leadership of Sterling’s payroll operations, payroll tax submissions & compliance, payroll budgeting, vendors, and pay data for their global population of 5,700+ employees. The candidate will also manage complex global payroll functions to ensure timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy of payroll processing and associated deliverables. The pay range for this position is $170,000 to $190,000, and the role is eligible to participate in the Annual Incentive bonus plan. Responsibilities:
- Assume accountability for the delivery of all current and future payroll processing, operations, and controls across the globe
- Develop and execute on “best in class” payroll strategy for accuracy and compliance
- Develop and lead a team of globally dispersed payroll specialists
- Establish and achieve department annual budget, strategies, goals, and objectives
- Design standard operating procedures through adoption of industry best practice standards that comply with federal / state regulations and collective bargaining agreements
- Lead program and system implementations that focus on continuous improvement to build timely, accurate, compliant, agile payroll that provide confidence and trust for our employees globally
- Oversee Payroll and Time & Attendance system enhancements, improvements, and efficiencies and support improvement projects in Workday and partner closely with the People Operations team
- Partner across the people team to ensure core compensation cycle, benefits administration, stock processing, and employee tax related activities are delivered from a payroll perspective
- Ensure compliance with all state / local laws and federal regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing laws and regulations
- Ensure compliance with all state / local laws, federal regulations, and collective bargaining agreements
- Maintain SOX documentation and ensure compliance
- Develop collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders to ensure payroll operations are compliant and meet business objectives
- Maintain trusted relationships with our external payroll partners, ensuring they meet all KPIs and SLAs
