This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role where you will own the user experience end-to-end and set the design foundation for the company. You will partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to shape workflows and interfaces that help analysts make sense of complex, data-heavy threat intelligence.This role is ideal for a founding designer mindset. Someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building systems from scratch, and wants to leave a lasting design legacy.Why This Role Matters:Team Cymru has built a successful product that security teams rely on daily, but we have never had a dedicated internal design function. This is your opportunity to change that.As our UX Design Lead, you will define how customers experience our platform, create the standards that guide design quality, and transform complex threat data into intuitive workflows that drive faster, clearer decisions.Key Responsibilities:Design Strategy and OwnershipOwn and establish Team Cymru’s first UX function, including design standards, best practices, and scalable design systems.Influence product roadmap decisions by partnering with leadership to define user-centric solutions.Translate business goals and technical complexity into a cohesive product experience vision.End-to-End UX ExecutionLead the full UX process from discovery to wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes and final UI assets.Design dashboards and workflows that make large-scale threat intelligence data clear and actionable.Partner deeply with Engineering to ensure feasibility, quality implementation, and continuous iteration.Research, Customer Access, and EvangelismConduct user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions using direct access to an established customer base.Work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Threat Research teams to understand friction points and improve usability.Help shift the organization from feature-led to experience-led through UX education and advocacy.Qualifications:7+ years of experience in UX and product design, ideally owning major product areas or scaling design practices.Experience designing for complex technical workflows in B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, or data/analytics products.Ability to operate as a team of one and build structure where none exists.Strong executive communication skills and ability to defend design decisions with business impact.Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.What Success Looks Like:A consistent and scalable design system is implemented and adopted across the product.Threat intelligence workflows become faster, clearer, and more intuitive for analysts.UX becomes a core part of how Team Cymru builds, prioritizes, and ships product.Why Join Team Cymru:Remote-first environmentHigh autonomy and leadership visibilityMission-driven work that protects global communitiesOpportunity to build a design function from the ground upBenefits may vary for non-U.S. employees; please contact us for details.
