This is a hands-on systems role for someone who has run payroll and HR technology in-house, not just implemented it for others. You'll be one of the internal expert on our client HR tech stack (systems such as HiBob and Lattice), keeping platforms configured, integrated, compliant, and optimized as livingHR scales.ResponsibilitiesPayroll OperationsOwn end-to-end payroll processing, accuracy, and compliance across all applicable statesManage payroll calendar, tax filings, garnishments, and off-cycle runsServe as the point of escalation for payroll discrepancies and auditsHRIS/HCM System OwnershipAdminister and maintain the core HRIS platform (e.g., HiBob), including workflows, permissions, and data integrityAdminister performance and engagement platforms (e.g., Lattice) for goals, reviews, and feedback cyclesManage system integrations across HRIS, performance, payroll, benefits, and other downstream toolsImplementation & OptimizationLead configuration changes, new module rollouts, and system upgradesBuild and maintain automated workflows to reduce manual HR adminPartner with People team leaders to translate process needs into system designData & ComplianceOwn HR data integrity, reporting, and audit readiness across systemsEnsure payroll and HRIS practices meet federal, state, and local compliance requirementsDeliver dashboards and reporting that support workforce planning and OKRsRole Requirements5+ years running payroll and HRIS/HCM systemsHR Generalist or HRBP background with broad exposure across the employee lifecycleExperience working directly with clients in consulting, professional services, PEOs, or agenciesHands-on administrator experience with a core HRIS platform (e.g., HiBob) requiredHands-on administrator experience with a performance/engagement platform (e.g., Lattice) requiredHRIS and/or performance platform certification strongly preferredDeep knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance, tax, and wage/hour requirementsStrong systems thinking with the ability to troubleshoot integrations independentlyExcellent communication, stakeholder management, and advisory skillsComfort operating in a lean, fast-scaling environment with high ownership expectationsWhat You Can ExpectlivingHR engages contract consultants on a project-by-project basis.
