Longbridge is looking for our next Underwriting Team Lead. The ideal candidate will possess the following:Accurately evaluate and underwrite HECM and/or Proprietary reverse mortgage loan files submitted by retail and wholesale production channels, in accordance with company policy and FHA HECM and Platinum program guidelines.Primary Job Duties:Supervise a team of underwriters and monitor team performance for the review and decisioning of Reverse Mortgage loansConduct second level reviewsAssist as needed to resolve escalation questionsAssist in hiring and training underwritersCollaborate with underwriters, processors, sales, and external brokers to assist with structuring Reverse transactionsReview underwriting decisions and conditions, and may underwrite loans as neededHave a thorough knowledge of HECM and/or Proprietary Reverse underwriting guidelines and constantly staying on top of any changesWork closely with Underwriting Management to implement plans, improve consistency, efficiency, and shorten turn times.QualificationsRequired Experience:5+ years of recent HECM and/or Proprietary mortgage underwriting experienceDE Certification requiredAbility and desire to lead and mentor a teamAbility to prioritize and make quick decisionsAble to maintain a positive attitude and be productive when under pressure and under tight deadlinesProven ability to interpret and communicate regulatory guidanceStrong attention to detail, superior analytical skills, data driven mentalityExcellent customer service skills including both verbal and written communicationCompany DescriptionAt Longbridge, we love seniors and we’re passionate about helping them unlock the power of one of their greatest assets—their home equity.As a leading provider of home equity solutions for seniors, we’re committed to helping older homeowners make the most of what they’ve worked hard to build, so they can live the retirement they imagined.And we don’t just do it well, we do it really well.
