Requirements and responsibilities

About the Role: - We are hiring a DTC Operations Lead to be the single owner of execution velocity for our Shopify direct-to-consumer channel. - This is the most critical hire in our DTC buildout. - We already have the strategy, the specs, the infrastructure, and the data — what we need is someone to make sure the work actually ships, every day, every week, without strategic conversations getting stuck in a document on Google Drive. - You will not be the person running ad accounts (that is the Growth Marketer). - You will not be the person writing Liquid code (that is Implementation Specialist). - You will not be the person producing creative assets (that is UGC Creators + Content Producer). - Your job is to make sure all of those people are shipping, on-brief, on-time, every single week — and that the work they produce moves our DTC readiness score, revenue, and margin in the right direction. - This role is 70% execution management, 20% strategic decision-making, 10% hands-on analytical work. - If you want to run ads or build pages yourself, this is not the right role. - If you thrive on turning chaos into rhythm and watching a team ship more in a month than most DTC teams ship in a quarter, keep reading. About Inspiratek: - Inspiratek LLC is a US-based e-commerce company generating $18M+ annually on Amazon, with expanding presence on TikTok Shop and DTC Shopify. - We operate 5 private label brands with 20+ active products across the portfolio. - What makes us different: we are building one of the most data-driven operations in the private label space. - Our team uses advanced analytics, AI-powered operational agents, custom data pipelines, and structured decision frameworks to manage every aspect of the business, from keyword-level PPC decisions to inventory forecasting to competitive intelligence. - This is not a company where you will be making gut calls. - Every decision is backed by data, and every action plan has measurable outcomes. - We are a 27-person distributed team across the world. - We operate in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment where ownership and accountability matter more than hours logged. What You Will Own: Execution Velocity & Team Management — 50% of your time: - Daily standup (async or sync) with Growth Marketer, Implementation Specialist, UGC Creators — 15 minutes maximum, focused on "what shipped yesterday, what ships today, what is blocked." - ClickUp ownership: every open task has a clear owner, deadline, and acceptance criteria; every completed task has a tested outcome. - Weekly sprint planning from the backlog of 17 existing specs + incoming priorities. - Weekly sprint review: what shipped, what slipped, why, and what changes next week. - Remove blockers: if Implementation Specialist is stuck on a Klaviyo flow, you unblock within 24 hours — you do not let it sit for a week. - Pull from the AI agent's prioritized recommendations and assign — you should never have a team member wondering what to work on. DTC Performance Accountability — 20% of your time: - Own the top-line DTC KPIs: revenue, conversion rate, CAC, AOV, email list growth, repeat purchase rate, contribution margin. - Weekly performance review with the team, using data from the AI agent's dashboards. - Monthly performance review with the CEO: what moved, what did not, why, and what you are changing. - Quarterly P&L review: contribution margin, LTV:CAC, channel profitability. - Accountable for moving the DTC Readiness Tracker from 62% to 90% within 90 days of starting. Strategic Decision-Making — 20% of your time: - Decide what the team works on this week, this month, this quarter — aligned with CEO priorities. - Evaluate competing priorities: when the agent surfaces a conversion leak versus the Growth Marketer wants to test a new creative versus Ahmad has a blog CTA to ship, you prioritize. - Approve or reject A/B test recommendations (with data justification). - Approve creative briefs before UGC creators start production. - Cross-channel coordination: when Amazon runs a promotion, you decide DTC's response; when TikTok wants to test a creator, you validate the DTC implications. - Escalate to CEO only what requires CEO-level decisions (budget above $500/day, pricing changes, strategic shifts) — you handle everything else. Hands-On Analytical Work — 10% of your time: - Read dashboards daily — you should know the top 5 DTC metrics before your team tasks. - Read Microsoft Clarity session recordings weekly (not optional) — you should know firsthand where users get stuck on mobile. - Spot-check the AI agent's recommendations — verify the logic, do not just rubber-stamp. - Identify when the AI agent is missing context and feed it back (this makes the agent better over time). Required Qualifications: Must-Have Experience (Non-Negotiable): - 4+ years leading DTC e-commerce operations (Shopify, BigCommerce, or direct Shopify Plus) at a brand doing $500K-$10M/year. - Demonstrable track record of running a cross-functional DTC team: paid media, CRO, email, content, implementation. - Experience managing remote teams across time zones (you will manage people in 2-4 countries simultaneously). - Project management fluency: ClickUp, Asana, Notion, Linear, Monday — it does not matter which, but you must have run a real backlog, not a checklist. - Data literacy: you can read GA4, Shopify Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, Klaviyo, and Search Console fluently — not an expert in each, but competent enough to verify a specialist's work. - Strong communication: written (async updates, briefs, escalation emails) and verbal (CEO check-ins, team standups). - Fluent English: written and verbal — this is a CEO-facing and team-leadership role. Strong Preferences: - Experience at a company running DTC alongside Amazon (cross-channel dynamics are a daily reality here). - Experience with bedding, home, wellness, or premium lifestyle brands. - Experience working with AI tools as part of daily workflow (not just "used ChatGPT a few times"). - Shopify Plus admin experience (not required, but a plus). - Klaviyo, Microsoft Clarity, Judge.me, Gorgias, or similar tool fluency. Nice-to-Have: - Background as a former Growth Marketer or CRO specialist (you understand what your team is doing at a technical level). - Experience in a 5-10 person company (you understand scrappy execution, not Fortune 500 bureaucracy). - Experience building or scaling a DTC channel from <$500K to $2M+ ARR. - Comfort with light Shopify theme edits, basic HTML/Liquid (so you can spot-check work). What We Provide: - A fully built strategic and data infrastructure: 17 specs, 86 processes documented, 35+ automation scripts, 13 active crons, all platform APIs integrated. - An AI operations agent that delivers daily analytics, weekly summaries, competitor intel, creative briefs, PDP audit specs, email flow designs, and P&L analysis — you inherit a research and planning team on day 1. - A 90-day playbook to move DTC Readiness from 62% to 90% — not a blank page. - Direct CEO access for decisions above your authority level — clear escalation path, no middle-management bureaucracy. - Growing revenue trajectory: DTC is our #1 strategic growth priority for 2026-2027. - Clear promotion path: as DTC scales to $2M+ ARR, this role evolves into Head of DTC. Deal-Breakers — Do Not Apply If: - Your experience is primarily Amazon or marketplace operations — the playbooks do not transfer. - You have only ever been an individual contributor (paid media specialist, CRO analyst) — this is a management role requiring team leadership. - You have only ever led large teams (15+ people with clear functional silos) — this is a scrappy execution role where you lead 4-6 people across functions. - You prefer strategy over execution — this is 70% execution, 20% strategy, 10% analysis. - You need extensive direction from above — you will be given goals and scorecards, not task lists. - You are uncomfortable delegating to an AI agent or receiving AI-generated specs — that is a core workflow of this role. What You Will Get: - Competitive salary based on experience. - Fully remote position. Work from anywhere. - Direct access to the CEO. Your ideas and analysis reach the decision-maker, not a middle manager. - Advanced tooling and infrastructure, including AI-powered analytics, custom dashboards, and automated reporting that let you focus on strategy instead of data entry. - A team that values data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. - Opportunities for growth as the company expands into new marketplaces and channels. - Employee discounts on Inspiratek products.
