As the business continues to expand, the company is looking for an experienced Construction Estimator who can take ownership of the estimating workload and help leadership focus on strategic growth and project oversight.This is a lean, hands-on team that values initiative, reliability, and the ability to work independently without constant supervision.Job SummaryWe are seeking a Construction Estimator with at least 3 years of experience estimating US-based construction projects.You will be responsible for identifying relevant bidding opportunities, performing quantity takeoffs, preparing and submitting bids, handling RFIs and submittals, and coordinating with vendors and subcontractors.The ideal candidate is a true self-starter who can manage the estimating process from project identification through bid submission, make sound decisions independently, and consistently deliver accurate work with minimal rework.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify relevant construction projects and bidding opportunities aligned with the company's capabilitiesPerform detailed quantity takeoffs using PlanHub and other estimating toolsReview drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine project scopePrepare accurate and competitive bids for full or partial project scopesSubmit bids within required deadlinesHandle RFIs, submittals, revisions, and bid updatesCoordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholdersSupport pre-construction activities and project handoffEvaluate project opportunities and determine which bids are worth pursuingMaintain organized estimating and bidding recordsAttend weekly Friday strategic planning meetings with company leadership and department headsProvide updates, insights, and recommendations during planning discussionsWork independently and manage estimating priorities without constant oversightHelp improve estimating processes, bid quality, and overall project profitabilityRequired Qualifications3+ years of US construction estimating experienceBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering requiredStrong understanding of US construction estimating practicesExperience performing quantity takeoffs and bid preparationProficiency with takeoff and estimating software; PlanHub experience is a strong plusAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentsFamiliarity with general construction and commercial projectsStrong written and verbal English communicationStrong initiative and self-starter mentalityExcellent organization and follow-throughAbility to work independently without requiring constant direction or supervisionReliable and committed to meeting deadlines and responsibilitiesPreferred QualificationsExperience estimating commercial construction projects, particularly:RetailMedical officesHospitalityExperience with residential construction projectsExperience working directly with US-based contractors, subcontractors, vendors, or project ownersExperience handling the full estimating cycle from project identification through bid submissionFamiliarity with PlanHub or similar project bidding platformsStrong understanding of construction materials, labor, subcontractor pricing, and project costsWhat Will Make You Stand OutProven ability to independently identify projects worth biddingStrong track record of completing accurate takeoffs and competitive bids with minimal reworkAbility to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines without constant follow-upStrong commercial judgment when determining whether a project is a good fit for the companyProactive communication and willingness to contribute during strategic planning meetingsDemonstrated ability to improve estimating efficiency and support project profitabilityHistory of being dependable, responsive, and consistent in a remote work environmentNon-NegotiablesCivil Engineering degreeMinimum 3 years of US construction estimating experienceFluent English — written and verbalAbility to work independently without constant supervisionStrong reliability and follow-throughAbility to commit to 40 hours/weekAvailability to work within US Eastern TimeStrong understanding of construction estimating and bid preparation
