We're looking for an HCPC-registered Dietitian or AfN-registered Nutritionist to join our growing clinical team at one of the UK's most exciting health-tech companies.In this role, you'll support people living with obesity to make sustainable lifestyle and behaviour changes, working as part of a multidisciplinary team within our Specialist Weight Management Service (SWMS).This is a fully remote role: all delivery is via video consultation and in-app messaging, and you can be based anywhere in the UK. Flexibility is required to support some early evenings and Saturdays as and when needed to support our NHS contracts.The RoleWe're looking for a dynamic Health Coach who is passionate about making a positive difference to those living with obesity to grow our current clinical team. You will be part of an innovative Specialist Weight Management Service (SWMS) that uses a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) approach to obesity treatment and technology to optimise patient engagement and outcomes.You will provide nutritional and lifestyle interventions to people living with obesity to support them to make sustainable dietary and behaviour changes, in collaboration with the MDT. You'll be using evidence-based health coaching techniques, such as motivational interviewing, goal setting and behaviour change frameworks. Whilst it is important to be able to work autonomously, you will receive comprehensive training. You will also have access to clinical supervision and support from senior clinicians.This post is full-time (40 hours/week) and fixed-term, with flexible hours and a view to extend based on the needs of the service.What you'll do:Independently implement appropriate initial assessment methods to allocate service users to the most suitable treatment pathwayDeliver group-based and one-to-one nutritional and lifestyle interventions remotely via video calls, to support changes in dietary and physical activity behavioursProvide ongoing coaching and support between sessions through in-app messagingSupport service users across both medicated and non-medicated programmes, including those accessing GLP-1 medicationAttend regular MDT meetings to monitor the care of our service usersAttend clinical supervision to discuss complex or high-risk casesAppropriately manage clinical risk (e.g. safeguarding concerns) when it arises during clinical practiceMaintain adequate CPD, receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with good practice guidelines and continue to meet your registration requirements (HCPC or AfN)Maintain confidentiality of information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and ensuring that participant confidentiality is protected at all timesContribute to innovation projects, service evaluation, and ongoing programme development at Second NatureRequirementsExperience working in a weight management/bariatric/eating disorder settingA qualified HCPC-registered Dietitian or AfN-registered Nutritionist with experience of weight management and/or bariatric experience, or working with patients in an eating disorder settingProven experience delivering group-based programmes, with the confidence to facilitate sessions effectively in a digital settingA solid understanding of obesity as a condition and the issues many people living with obesity face, including weight stigmaExperience or training in health coaching, behaviour change, or motivational interviewing, with awareness of coaching models and approachesAble to provide supportive, empathetic patient-centred care to patients who may have complex physical and mental health needsYou're comfortable working fully remotelyYou have a suitable home working setup, including a private space for confidential consultations and a reliable internet connectionYou can work autonomously and collaboratively with a doctor-led multidisciplinary team (MDT) to oversee patient careYou'll confidently and independently manage a caseload of service users, delivering nutritional and lifestyle interventions via video calls and in-app messaging, and working collaboratively with our MDTYou have experience in supporting the coordination of a healthcare serviceYou have experience monitoring and supporting patients' journeys through a service in line with an organisation's protocols, including scheduling assessments and appointments, monitoring attendance rates and following up with patients, writing GP letters, and revising protocolsYou have experience using Excel or Google Sheets (or other similar programmes) to monitor patients' journeysYou are dynamic and have a strong drive to work in healthcare techYou have experience thriving in fast-paced environments and are energised by the dynamic nature of start-up life, where being hands-on and adaptable to the evolving needs of the service is essentialYou're confident in using technology to provide patient care, including recording and reviewing patient notes, and providing in-app coachingExcited by digital initiatives that increase access to healthcareEducation/Qualifications:HCPC registration as a Dietitian, or AfN registration as a Nutritionist (Registered Nutritionist or Registered Associate Nutritionist)Relevant degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or a related fieldBenefitsWork from home with flexible hoursJoining a culture of intelligent, friendly, and highly-motivated individuals who are passionate about what they doA competitive market salary25 days of holiday plus national holidaysBy bringing together the latest behavioural science, psychology, technology, and the talents of our incredible team, our mission is to eradicate obesity and type 2 diabetes for all, and as part of that mission, we are aiming to increase access to effective treatment for people living with obesity.
