THE SHORT VERSION
We do $18M a year on Amazon. Our Shopify DTC channel does about $22,000 a month. We want it at $4-5M a year, profitably, and we do not have anyone whose job it is to make that happen.
That is this role. You own the Shopify P&L -revenue, contribution margin, forecast, acquisition cost, retention -and you direct the people who execute it. You will not be handed a mature channel to optimise. You will be handed a small one, a real team, unusually good data infrastructure, and the authority to decide what happens next.
The profile we expect to hire is a builder: someone who has already taken one owned channel from under $1M to $3M or more, under the constraints this stage imposes -thin traffic, no statistical power, no agency, every dollar of contribution counted. If you have operated at $10M+ instead, you are equally welcome; the evidence bar for both is below.
ABOUT US
Inspiratek & Ecotero LLC operates five private-label brands across roughly 20 active products, led by DECOLURE in premium bedding and home textiles. Amazon is the mature channel at $18M+ annually. TikTok Shop is growing. DTC on Shopify is the newest and the one we care most about, because it is the only channel where we own the customer relationship.
We are a 27-person distributed team. What makes us unusual is how much of the analytical work is already automated: custom data pipelines, structured decision frameworks, and an AI operations agent that produces daily analytics, weekly summaries, competitor intelligence, creative briefs, PDP audits and P&L analysis. You inherit a research and planning function on day one. What we do not have is someone to decide what to do with it.
Being straight with you about the stage
Some of our infrastructure is genuinely excellent and some is half-finished. Merchant account access, Gorgias, Meta catalog visibility and parts of the Klaviyo setup are incomplete. Our Shopify and GA4 revenue figures currently diverge by more than a normal analytics gap, and building the reconciliation bridge is part of the first 30 days. We are telling you this in the job post rather than letting you discover it in month two.
And one more thing, because it decides whether you will be happy here: at $22K a month this is a player-coach role. You set strategy and direct specialists -and some weeks you will also personally write the creative brief, pull the data, or build the email, because the team is three people and the queue is real. If you have led a $5M+ channel and the hands-on weeks sound like a step backwards, this is not the role. If a half-built channel with real budget and real authority sounds like the interesting kind of problem, keep reading.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Commercial ownership of the Shopify channel
The DTC P&L: net revenue, contribution margin, blended and new-customer acquisition cost, AOV, repeat purchase rate, and cash-aware inventory demand.
A monthly forecast with a stated horizon and a stated error tolerance, plus a weekly commercial outlook to the CEO.
A prioritised growth roadmap where every item has an owner, a deadline, a success metric, and a stop criterion.
Paid growth and creative
The paid media operating system across Meta and Google: budget strategy, channel mix, measurement, and specialist accountability. Our Growth Marketer runs the accounts; you own the system, the targets and the tradeoffs.
The creative testing agenda -concepts, angles, UGC demand, what gets tested next and what gets stopped.
Scaling and containment decisions inside your delegated authority. Anything above it comes to the CEO with a recommendation, not a question.
Conversion, retention and customer economics
The funnel from session to product page to add-to-cart to checkout to repeat purchase.
The CRO roadmap, held to decision-grade evidence before anything is declared a winner. At our traffic volume that means being honest about what cannot be proven yet.
Email and SMS strategy, list growth, lifecycle coverage and retention economics. Specialists execute; you set the priorities.
Team and operating cadence
Lead the Growth Marketer, Implementation Specialist and UGC Creator through weekly planning, daily exception handling and a monthly commercial review. Note: the Growth Marketer works roughly 9-10 hours ahead of US Eastern -you will be designing an async operation, and we test for exactly that.
Keep work in progress controlled. Resolve blockers before adding tools or headcount.
Give people goals and scorecards, not task lists -and then hold them to the scorecards.
The AI operating model
Build AI into research, analysis, forecasting, creative development, QA and documentation -and improve the agent by feeding back where it is missing context.
Treat AI output as a draft or a hypothesis until the source, the arithmetic and the execution risk have been checked.
Keep humans in control of money movement, pricing, customer contact, legal claims and production releases.
Cross-channel and executive
A concise weekly view to the CEO: performance, risk, decision required, next commercial move.
Coordinate inventory, pricing and promotions with Amazon and TikTok. You do not change another channel unilaterally, and they do not change yours.
WHAT YOU WILL NOT OWN
Stated plainly so there is no ambiguity in either direction. You set strategy and hold accountability for all of these; you are not the person doing them day to day -most weeks.
Running the ad accounts hour to hour -the Growth Marketer does that.
Writing Liquid, building pages, or configuring flows -the Implementation Specialist does that.
Producing creative assets -UGC creators and the content producer do that.
Amazon and TikTok Shop operations -separate channel teams.
That said, this is a small company. If you cannot open Shopify Analytics, GA4, Meta Ads Manager and Klaviyo yourself and tell whether a specialist’s work is sound, you will not be able to lead this team.
REQUIRED EVIDENCE
This is the part that decides whether your application advances. We are strict about it, and we would rather tell you now than waste your time. You must clear Track A or Track B. Both are fully qualifying, both are verified through references, public evidence, or a live discussion. Name it, date it, and be ready to have it checked.
The claim
Track A -Scale operator - One named DTC brand reached at least $10M in realised annual owned-channel revenue during a period when you personally controlled the budget, the P&L or the growth roadmap -name which, and be specific about where your authority ended.
Track B -Builder - One named DTC brand went from under $1M to at least $3M in realised annual owned-channel revenue under your authority.
You must provide
Track A -Scale operator - Brand name, working storefront URL, your start and end dates, starting revenue, ending revenue, exactly what you controlled, and a source who can verify it.
Track B -Builder - The same seven items.
How it is treated
Track A -Scale operator - Fully qualifying. Strong verified evidence pays toward the top of the band..
Track B -Builder - Fully qualifying -and the profile we expect to hire, because you have made the exact transition this channel needs. Strong verified evidence pays to the band midpoint; exceptional evidence (you did it more than once, or you can show it was contribution-margin positive while you did it) pays toward the top of the band, same as Track A.
What does not count as scale evidence
An agency portfolio total, or revenue across multiple clients or brands. Total company revenue where DTC was one part, or marketplace revenue such as Amazon. A forecast, a run rate, a projection, or an annualised best month. A result achieved by a team you were part of but did not materially direct. We check this at the reference stage. A claim that does not survive that check ends the process regardless of how the rest went, so please do not stretch it.
Required evidence
At least 5 years in DTC ecommerce, including leadership of a Shopify brand or business unit.
At least $15,000 per month in paid media across Meta and Google under your direct decision authority. Note the number is deliberately not higher -see the next section.
Direct ownership of a DTC P&L: contribution margin, forecast, acquisition cost and lifetime value decisions.
Demonstrated leadership across paid, creative, CRO, email, analytics and operations -not depth in one of them.
One real AI-enabled workflow you designed or materially improved, with an artifact we can look at, an observable result you can defend (a before/after in time saved, error rate or a business metric), and the safeguards you put around it. Not a description of how you think about AI.
Experience managing remote people across time zones.
Fluent written and spoken English, and at least 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time.
On the $15,000 paid media figure
We could have asked for $50,000 a month. We deliberately did not. Our current blended spend is close to $10,000 a month. An operator whose judgment was formed at $50,000 a month tends to design tests that need volume we cannot buy, read weekly noise as signal, and reach for budget as the first lever. We would rather hire someone who has been trusted with real money and knows how to decide without statistical power. The assessment tests this directly.
Preferred
Bedding, home, beauty, apparel or wellness -any visual category with comparable gross margin, creative velocity and repeat purchase behaviour. Exact category is preferred, not required; the economics matter more than the product.
Having grown an owned Shopify channel alongside Amazon or another large marketplace.
Real fluency in attribution, incrementality and analytics reconciliation -particularly at low traffic volumes.
Hands-on with Shopify, GA4, Meta, Google Ads, Klaviyo, session recording tools, review platforms and support tooling.
Background as a growth marketer or CRO specialist before moving into leadership.
