Araways is hiring Remote full-time C2C contractual Ceph Storage Development Engineer for 6-12 months.Key Responsibilities:Core Code Development: Design, write, and implement new features and programmatic patches directly into Ceph core layers (RGW, RADOS, RBD, CephFS).Performance Engineering: Optimize storage engine performance, scalability, memory management, and low-level distributed runtime system behavior.Upstream Integration: Actively participate in upstream Ceph open-source development, community code contributions, and technical design discussions.Cloud-Native Integration: Programmatically integrate Ceph storage clusters with Kubernetes orchestration engines using Rook and Ceph CSI drivers.Observability & Diagnostics: Troubleshoot deep distributed system crashes, memory leaks, and I/O bottlenecks while scaling Prometheus/Grafana telemetry.Core Requirements :7–20 years of overall systems engineering experience, with a heavy emphasis on distributed storage systems.5+ years of expert-level programmatic proficiency in C++ and Python.Proven hands-on Ceph Development experience (Must have contributed code to RGW, RADOS, RBD, or CephFS architectures).Deep structural understanding of Linux Internals (kernel I/O subsystems, threading models, system calls, and advanced memory management).Clear working knowledge of Kubernetes, Rook operators, Git workflows, and cloud-native CI/CD infrastructure pipelines.If interested plz share your resume.
