Junior Data Engineer (Entry Level | 0–3 Years) Experience: 0–3 Years Job Type: Full-Time / Contract Location: [United States Remote] Hourly Rate: $48–$66/hour Job Summary We are looking for a motivated Junior Data Engineer to join our data and technology team. This opportunity is ideal for fresh graduates, entry-level professionals, and Data Engineers with up to 3 years of experience who are interested in building data pipelines, working with cloud technologies, and developing data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in Python, SQL, databases, ETL/ELT concepts, and cloud platforms. Candidates with academic projects, internships, certifications, or hands-on personal projects in data engineering are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain data pipelines for collecting, transforming, and loading data. Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data. Use Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline development. Assist in building ETL/ELT workflows from multiple data sources. Work with relational and cloud-based databases. Perform data validation and quality checks. Assist with data cleansing, transformation, and integration. Support the development and maintenance of data warehouses and data lakes. Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot data processing issues. Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Software Engineers, and business teams. Document data processes, pipelines, and technical solutions. Follow data security, quality, and development best practices. Required Skills Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python. Strong understanding of SQL. Understanding of databases and relational database concepts. Familiarity with ETL/ELT and data pipeline concepts. Understanding of data structures and basic programming concepts. Familiarity with at least one cloud platform: AWS Microsoft Azure Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Familiarity with Git/version control. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills Experience or academic/project exposure to any of the following is a plus: AWS S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Google BigQuery Apache Airflow Apache Spark / PySpark Snowflake Databricks dbt PostgreSQL / MySQL MongoDB Docker REST APIs Pandas Power BI or Tableau Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent in: Computer Science Information Technology Data Science Computer Engineering Software Engineering Information Systems Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field
