Our people are Lever’s biggest competitive advantage and we’ll continue investing in our “Leveroos” and people-first culture.Key ResponsibilitiesUtilize knowledge, internal data, and external literature to develop and test hypotheses to link observed biology to human diseaseLead drug discovery projects, working collaboratively with team members to progress projects and proactively communicating with stakeholders and managementBuild and manage a group responsible for in vitro assay development and compound profiling activities to support project progressionCoordinate internal resources and external CRO efforts to ensure timely generation of high-quality in vitro and in vivo dataBring creativity and innovative approaches to target validation, assay development, and disease associationDefine and implement scientific and portfolio strategyKey SkillsPh.D. in cellular or molecular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related discipline with 7+ years relevant industry experience or MS/BS with 10+ years relevant industry experienceDemonstrated success as a scientific leader of multiple drug discovery projects with experience progressing compounds from identification through characterization and optimization in different therapeutic areasDemonstrated ability to lead a discovery biology group by hiring, mentoring, and motivating team membersExperience with assay development for biochemical and/or cellular assaysExperience with managing CRO activities to ensure generation of quality data to defined timelinesAbility to work independently and to contribute in a cross-functional team environmentDisease area expertise, especially dermatology or immunology, with knowledge of in vitro assays and in vivo models to link biology to human disease is preferredExperience working in biotech is preferredLever is an equal opportunity employer.
