This person will elevate the quality, usability, and aesthetic of our sleep product line while ensuring designs are commercially viable and ready for mass production.In this role, you will:Lead the design process from concept to product launch, balancing creative vision with practical executionCollaborate closely with manufacturing partners, marketing, and leadership to bring products to market successfullyCreate detailed CAD models and manufacturing-ready Tech PacksPresent clear, evidence-based design directions and communicate progress across teamsIterate product designs based on user feedback, research insights, and market trendsConduct both qualitative and quantitative research, including user interviewsEnsure design intent is maintained from prototype stage through mass productionDevelop CMF specifications and understand how materials, fabrics, and finishes impact product performanceUse customer data and analytics to improve product design and user experienceStay up to date with industry trends, emerging materials, and product innovationsThis is a full-time, fully remote role with asynchronous working hours. We prefer working hours to be between GMT0 and GMT+8 so there’s at least a 3-hour overlap with the rest of the team.To excel in this role, you need:5+ years of experience in Product Design or Industrial Design focused on physical consumer productsExperience designing products in a fast-growing eCommerce company ($30M–$50M+ revenue)Proven experience designing both soft goods and hard goods (home, wearable, or textile-based products)Demonstrated ability to take products from concept and sketch stage through mass productionAdvanced proficiency in 3D rendering software such as Keyshot (or equivalent)Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Rhino, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Hands-on prototyping experience including 3D printing and physical mock-upsStrong understanding of user-centered design and design thinking methodologiesExperience conducting and applying user research and usability testingAbility to align product design with business goals and product roadmapsSolid knowledge of manufacturing processes and bringing products to mass productionAbility to create CMF specifications and detailed Tech Packs for factoriesStrong collaboration skills with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing partnersClear written and visual communication skillsFluent EnglishBrownie points for:Experience designing wearable products delivered to marketExperience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM)Experience designing sleep, wearable, medical, audio, or head-worn productsExperience in ergonomic validation such as fit studies or pressure mappingExperience working directly with Asian factories (China/Vietnam)Ability to speak Mandarin Chinese or other languages useful for supplier communicationThe ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive. They’re a hands-on designer who enjoys execution as much as strategy, communicates clearly, and thrives in a remote environment. They stay calm under ambiguity, prioritize high-impact work, and collaborate well with others while maintaining strong ownership of their projects.You’ll report to Nathan Tomlinson, Head of Product Design.Nathan leads our product design team and works closely with designers to turn ideas into real-world products customers love.
