Requirements and responsibilities

About the roleStage:  Expanding our initial buildout to new features and scaleStack:  .NET / C# · React/TypeScript · MySQL / Aurora · AWS ECS/Fargate · TerraformDomain:  Crypto-backed lending · LTV risk management · Securitization · Liquidation executionLocation:  Hybrid / Remote - US basedAbout ZariaZaria is building the infrastructure for institutional and consumer-grade servicing, backup servicing, and agency services for digital asset backed or mark-to-market margin loans. We’re bridging traditional structured finance and digital asset ecosystems—bringing precision, transparency, and interoperability to a rapidly evolving asset class. We operate at the intersection of credit risk, fintech infrastructure, and crypto trading, serving lenders, investors, banks, and rating agencies who need trusted, third-party administration of crypto collateralized margin loans or other mark-to-market loans. The roleAt Zaria, a fast growing startup, the Full-Stack Platform Engineer is a crucial role responsible for end-to-end system ownership. Unlike environments where responsibilities are siloed, the engineer will own the entire feature lifecycle, spanning the front end, the API layer, and the underlying infrastructure. The value a full-stack versatilist brings to our small organization is critical: it ensures that features are not just developed, but also robustly shipped, continuously monitored, and hardened to production-grade standards. This comprehensive view—from product requirements to deployment constraints—is essential for building a coherent, secure, and scalable platform. The workThe core of the platform is a set of .NET microservices managing bi-temporal loan data, LTV risk calculations, and portfolio compliance across a financial warehouse facility. The engineer will extend these services — adding unique advance rate calculations, cure period tracking, new MDM entities, and financial data integrations — working primarily in C# with MySQL on Aurora. They will operate across service boundaries. We have 14 services today; the engineer should be comfortable reasoning about clean architecture across all of them, not just the one they are currently touching.Operators of the system access it via an admin panel built with React/TypeScript SPA — it is data-dense and functionally rich, used by operations teams and lenders, not consumers. It encompasses compliance dashboards, loan tapes, LTV charts, waterfall fee structures, audit trails, and more. What we’re looking for5+ years in .NET / C# production systems.Strong .Net/C#, comfortable in React/TypeScript; Real understanding of clean architecture — not just the vocabulary, but the instinct for where layers belong and when abstractions earn their keep.Appreciation of common enterprise distributed systems patterns (e.g. micro-services, CQRS, event-stream processing, pub/sub messaging, message queues, data fabrics, …) and when/why to choose one approach versus anotherAWS production experience — ECS/Fargate, VPC networking, IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch. Terraform: experience writing it, extending it, and spotting when a depends_on is papering over a design problem.Security instinct: Security is part of how we build. Our engineers think about trust boundaries and attack surfaces while writing a feature — not when someone flags it in review. They have read OWASP Top 10 and it shows in their PRs.AI-native: uses Claude Code or equivalent as a genuine development partner – not as an autocomplete tool, but as a genuine engineering companion. Has developed opinions about where it accelerates them and where it misleads them, and knows how to direct it precisely. What would make you an exceptional candidateExperience as engineer #2–5 at a fintech or B2B SaaS firmExperience with bi-temporal data and or event-sourced systems. Background in fintech, lending, or asset management.Has debugged a production issue in a system they didn’t write and found it interesting, not just stressful.Creates and leverages Unit and BDD test harnesses, snippets, and scenarios not because it is “policy”, but because they see real value in them. You understand message-boundary transactional integrity. An enthusiastic team collaborator who loves to help others be successful, and who appreciates input and help from others. You have an Agile mindset and a drive to deliver value via relentless incrementalism. What you won’t find hereA platform team to whom to escalate infrastructure problems.A team of 30 engineers to ask before making a call.A change advisory board or story-point estimation.A greenfield project — there is a real system with real opinions and real clients.Cargo-cult process ceremonies.
