As a member of the DBA team, you will be responsible for defining and supporting new and existing database systems across public cloud and traditional data centers. You will help guide best practices in database administration, data high availability, database management, database design, process improvement, requirements analysis, and the introduction of innovation with a focus on automation.What You'll DoWork as a member of the DBA team, primarily partnering with the Application Development teams to provide guidance, troubleshooting and optimization for in-house applicationsPerform DBA Duties such as responding to requests for database support, monitoring database availability, performing backups, managing user access, participating in failover testing, and other normal activityDocument the database environment using industry standard diagramming techniques showing application/database dependencies. Additionally, you will be creating a data dictionary and documenting data mappings between disparate data sourcesPerform DDL and application code reviews code reviews for functionality related to a databaseUnderstand programing language (python, java, similar) and make informed design suggestions for efficient and logical use of the data and of database resourcesProvide high-end technical DBA support within a variety of Operating Environments (OE) while also supporting/assisting software development and operational teams with database definition, structure, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and security/integrity controls according to industry best practicesHelp Design and implement a new Database dependent application, planning for minimal migration downtime and resiliencyTroubleshoot and resolve issues across database and application tiersIndependently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolutionWork closely with L1/L2/L3 support teams to proactively identify and resolve issuesParticipate in 24x7 on-call rotationWhat You'll Need10+ years of hands-on Oracle database administration experience in a mission critical 24x7 environmentSoftware development experience with Java, React, Typescript, Python Node, Go, or similarExperience with full database lifecycle management: upgrades, patching, cloning, backups, and recoveryExperience creating and maintaining enterprise data dictionaryExperience with ETL processesUnderstanding of Unix operating systemsNice to HaveExperience with automated database deployment using Jenkins, Ansible, or similar toolsMySQL database administration experienceExperience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with an understanding of ITILExperience managing Oracle EBS environments including installation, patching, cloning, and performance tuning4+ years of AWS experience designing and supporting hyper-scale mission critical database architecture2+ years proficiency in writing, profiling, and optimizing SQL queries for performance2+ years experience creating and maintaining Entity Relationship DiagramsUnderstanding of data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, modeling, and profilingStrong understanding of Java, AWS Lambda, and development frameworksBusiness Wire will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.What We OfferThe base salary range for this position is $150K to $165K/year. Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
