Requirements and responsibilities

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: - This is not a traditional hotel sales role. - At Pathfinder, we have reimagined how business development works — removing the administrative clutter so our salespeople can do what they do best: build relationships, tell compelling stories, and close accounts. - As a remote Business Development Manager, you will represent a boutique-style portfolio of high-performing hotels — including Aloft Austin Southwest, Holiday Inn Express Arboretum, and Staybridge Suites Houston Clear Lake — all rated above market averages and recognized for exceptional guest satisfaction. - You will work from our dedicated sales infrastructure: researchers who surface qualified leads, a proposal-building team that handles storytelling and visuals, and enablement support that clears admin from your plate. - Your job is to sell — and to do it exceptionally well. WORK SCHEDULE & LOGISTICS: - Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, aligned to US Central Time (CT) business hours. - Contract Type: Full-Time. - Reports To: Portfolio Sales Leadership. ABOUT US: - At Pathfinder Hospitality, we believe in Platinum Service: doing unto others better than they could imagine. - That philosophy drives how we treat our guests, our clients, and our team members. - Here, you are not just filling a role — you are joining a team that invests in your growth and rewards excellence. ROLE SUMMARY: - The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing revenue across a portfolio of high-quality hotels by sourcing, developing, and closing extended stay and local negotiated rate (LNR) accounts. - This role requires a hunter mentality — proactive, persistent, and energized by building new relationships from the ground up. - You will leverage Pathfinder's innovative sales model to spend your time where it counts: in front of prospects and clients. - Our internal support structure handles research, proposals, and admin so you can focus on high-value selling activity. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Pipeline Development & Account Management: - Own your market. - Prospect extended stay and LNR accounts for Aloft Austin Southwest and Holiday Inn Express Arboretum, fueled by validated leads surfaced by our research team. - Support the portfolio. - As you grow into the role, contribute to business generation for Staybridge Suites Houston Clear Lake, with a focus on extended stay demand. - Capture inbound opportunities. - Handle high-value inbound inquiries triaged to you, qualify quickly, and ensure every potential client receives a tailored and timely follow-up. - Build the pipeline consistently. - Drive new qualified accounts into the funnel each week through structured prospecting activity. Client Engagement & Relationship Selling: - Sell with storytelling. - Use our "Dare to Compare" approach — proposals that go beyond rate sheets to show why our hotels are the smarter choice, backed by testimonials, visual content, and competitive positioning. - Create Peak Moments. - Bring Pathfinder's culture of going beyond "service" into sales. - Surprise and delight prospects with gestures that turn ordinary interactions into memorable stories they'll share with colleagues. Professional Development & Collaboration: - Keep getting better. - Participate in weekly Power Hours, practice sessions, and structured coaching. - We invest in your growth as a professional — not just your quota. - Engage with leadership. - Work closely with General Managers who are trained as active sales leaders through our Learning & Development program, ensuring your selling time is protected and supported. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE: - Consistent outbound activity generating new qualified accounts into the pipeline each week. - Growing extended stay and LNR bookings across Aloft, Holiday Inn Express, and supported accounts at Staybridge. - Proposals that consistently outperform competitors through storytelling and client-centric positioning. - A reputation not just for closing business, but for creating Peak Moments that turn clients into advocates. JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Hunter mindset: This role demands 100% assertive, aggressive sales energy — in mindset, strategy, and execution. - You do not wait for business to come to you. - You go get it. - Cold outreach, persistent follow-up, and relentless pipeline building are non-negotiable parts of this role. - Persuasion and influence: Demonstrated ability to move prospects through a sales process and convert them into long-term clients. - Relationship-driven approach: Excels at building trust and credibility over time; energized by people and conversations. - Results orientation: Self-starter who takes ownership of outcomes and thrives on finding and closing new business. - Coachability: Openness to feedback, development, and continuous improvement regardless of experience level. - English proficiency: Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English is required. - All client-facing communication — calls, emails, proposals, and negotiations — is conducted in English with US-based decision makers. - Availability: Able to work consistently during US Central Time business hours from a stable remote setup. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: - Access to an innovative sales enablement model — research, proposal support, and admin removal — so you can focus on selling. - Fully Remote & Globally Inclusive: Work from anywhere. - We trust great talent to do great work, wherever they are. - Mission-Driven Culture: Be part of a company that values mentorship, transformation, and long-term careers, not just jobs. - Growth Opportunities: Access to learning & development programs, mentorship from experienced leaders, and a fast-paced environment where your contributions shape the future. - People-First Environment: We believe in Platinum Service, not just for guests, but for our internal team members too. - You’ll be seen, supported, and celebrated. - Time Off & Wellness: 8 paid holidays, flexible PTO and vacation, birthday pay, and a Mental Health & Wellness Program, including access to a Life Coach.
