With expanding operations and multiple entities under management, we are seeking a highly organized and experienced Controller / Senior Accountant to help build and maintain strong financial infrastructure as we scale.Position OverviewThe Controller / Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day financial operations across six entities with combined annual collections exceeding $6M. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounting, bill pay, payroll oversight, and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with multi-state regulations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a growth environment and is comfortable owning both strategic financial reporting and transactional accounting processes.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial ManagementManage full-cycle accounting for six related entitiesMaintain accurate general ledgers using accrual-based accountingPrepare and analyze monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Balance SheetsPerform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesEnsure consistency across entities with shared vendors and cost structuresAccounts Payable (AP) & Bill PayOversee all bill pay processes across entitiesMaintain vendor relationships and ensure timely paymentsMonitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunitiesAccounts Receivable (AR)Provide weekly AR reporting to CEOTrack collections and aging reportsWork closely with operations to improve revenue cycle efficiencyPayroll & Contractor ManagementProcess payroll for ~10 full-time employees using GustoManage payments for ~10 independent contractorsEnsure payroll tax compliance across multiple statesTax & ComplianceEnsure compliance with multi-state tax regulationsCoordinate with external CPAs for tax filings and auditsMaintain proper documentation and internal controlsReporting & LeadershipProvide weekly AP and AR updates to CEOAssist in developing financial dashboards and KPIsSupport strategic decision-making with financial insightsHelp build scalable accounting processes as the company growsQualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of accounting experience (Controller or Senior Accountant level preferred)Strong experience with accrual-based accounting, P&L, and balance sheetsExperience managing multiple entities simultaneouslyPayroll experience (preferably with Gusto or similar platform)Experience with multi-state tax complianceHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAbility to work independently in a remote environmentPreferred:Prior experience in healthcare (dialysis, home health, or medical services strongly preferred)Experience in high-growth or multi-entity organizationsCPA or CPA-track candidateCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary (based on experience)Virtually unlimited PTO (flexible time off policy)401(k) with employer matchHealth insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield for primary employeeAdditional dependent coverage options availableFully remote work environmentOpportunity to grow into a leadership role as the company expandsDirect access to CEO and involvement in strategic decisionsWhy Join Us?This role offers the opportunity to build and shape the financial backbone of a growing healthcare company.
