Working closely with the Director of Programs and Research and the Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Senior Analyst will analyze and synthesize ideas, evidence, and inputs that will shape the Project’s public and stakeholder-facing deliverables.The Senior Analyst will drive program implementation and lead research by designing original research agendas, identifying critical reform options, conducting deep-dive landscape evaluations, and steering the direction of collaborative workstreams. This role requires sophisticated conceptual thinking, high-level communication, and comfort navigating ambiguity to identify and deliver insights on options across the government reform landscape.Required Experience5-10 years of experience leading complex strategic initiatives, managing high-level research programs, or overseeing policy analysis within sophisticated organizational environmentsStrong research and analysis skills, including the ability to gather and summarize information from diverse sourcesFamiliarity with federal operations, public administration, or issues related to government capacity and operational and institutional reformsExperience in federal government, think tanks, research organizations, or policy-focused environmentsExperience preparing memos, briefs, or synthesis documents for senior audiencesExcellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.Strong organizational and project-tracking capabilitiesDemonstrated ability to foster collaboration among working teams and to lead multiple workstreams and/or working groups concurrentlyAbility to work independently and proactively while maintaining alignment with team goalsPreferred ExperienceExperience supporting cross-sector partnerships, stakeholder engagement, policy advocacyExperience in management consultingAdditional NotesThis position is fully remote, but will require in-person attendance to support meetings and convenings in DC and other U.S. locations on an as-needed basis.Role and ResponsibilitiesProgram and Project CoordinationWith leadership from the Director of Programs and Research, oversee the strategic trajectory of research workstreams, ensuring timelines and milestones align with project goalsDesign and implement plans and project timelines to produce and integrate internal and external deliverablesResearch and AnalysisLead literature reviews, landscape analysis, and research across federal government capacity, management, and reformIdentify options and opportunities for strengthening government capacity and implementing operational fixes that possess high potential for immediate implementation in support of long-term transformationTranslate complex research findings into authoritative strategic briefs and synthesis documents for senior-level audiencesAssess the implications of new research, activities, and developments across the government reform ecosystemStakeholder and Partner SupportCultivate and lead a high-level network of practitioners and experts to extract and refine innovative ideas for government revitalizationDirect the contributions of external partners to ensure they meet the rigorous standards of the Project’s strategic blueprintsCoordinate across partners, consultants, and working groups to ensure smooth integration into project outputsIntegration and SynthesisSynthesize and integrate external contributions into consistent and valuable work productsTranslate insights and findings into draft recommendations, options, and issue briefsEnsure quality and strategic alignment for all partner research outputs, ensuring they uphold the project’s commitment to innovative thinking and effectivenessIdentify gaps in research or expertise and source experts and partners who can help the Project fill those gapsOther Duties as assigned
