We work in React Native and care deeply about how the product feels: a trade confirmation should feel instantaneous, a portfolio should feel alive, and navigation should feel effortless.The opportunityOwn the craft layer of our React Native mobile experience — fluid, gesture-driven interactions and transitions that feel native, not web-in-a-wrapperPush React Native beyond its defaults — Reanimated, Skia, native module bridges when the abstraction isn't enoughPartner closely with product designers, challenging and elevating motion and interaction design from concept through implementationEstablish animation primitives and interaction patterns within our design system that other engineers build on — your work becomes the quality floor for the teamProfile and optimize rendering performance, especially on lower-end Android devices where frame drops are unforgivableContribute to architectural decisions that affect UI responsiveness: state management, render cycles, and data flow into the view layerMentor engineers on interaction quality and raise the standard for what “done” looks like across the mobile orgSkills you should HODLDeep, demonstrable experience building polished mobile interfaces in React Native — including Reanimated, gesture handlers, and profiling JS thread vs UI thread performanceA trained eye for interaction design — noticing when an easing curve is wrong, having opinions about spring physics, and understanding that 60fps is a constraintA portfolio or demo reel of shipped work is a hard requirement (personal site, video walkthrough, GitHub interaction demos, or screen captures)Experience with modern AI development tooling (Cursor, Copilot, or similar) as a natural part of how you buildStrong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishNice to havesExperience with React Native Skia, custom shader work, or canvas-based rendering for non-standard UISome native platform knowledge (Swift/Kotlin) for when you need to drop below the RN abstraction — bridging, native modules, platform-specific behaviourYou've built interaction patterns that other engineers adopted — shared animation libraries, gesture primitives, motion design systemsBackground in or affinity for visual/motion design (e.g., prototyping in Figma or After Effects, sketching interaction flows)Experience in high-stakes product domains (fintech, health, trading) where UI precision affects user trustStrong opinions, loosely held — pushing back on designs that won't translate well to mobile while knowing when to ship and iterateHiring process notesUnless a specific application deadline is stated, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
