This role develops, implements, and maintains workplace safety policies and programs to promote a safe and compliant working environment.This individual will assess risk, identify opportunities to improve safety performance, and lead initiatives to reduce hazards across operations. The role also oversees the accurate documentation and reporting of safety metrics, records, and compliance logs in alignment with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory agencies.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis section outlines the primary responsibilities of the role; additional duties may be assigned as needed to support operational and regulatory requirements.Design safety program initiatives including leading the design, rollout, and continuous improvement of regional safety programs, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.Plans, implements and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programsMaintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs as required by state laws and applicable by site and business unitProvides operations team with guidance on health and safety processes ensuring adherence to industry, local state, and federal guidelines and regulationsOversee multiple safety initiatives/projects, balancing resources, timelines, and priorities.Develop and manage budgets for safety programs, including forecasting, cost control, and ROI analysisCoordinates investigations and Root Cause Analysis for Near Miss and accident eventsContribute to the development of regional and enterprise-wide safety strategies, including annual planning and goal setting.Establish, track, and report on program metrics (e.g., incident rates, audit scores, training completion) to senior leadershipCoordinate with cross-functional teams (HR, Operations, Legal, Facilities) to ensure program adoption and effectivenessEnsures that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, good engineering practices and customer expectationsParticipates in team meetings and provides regular on-site project presenceResponsible for implementing and maintaining Risk Assessment Plans, conducting risk assessments, administering monthly random safety questionnaires and unplanned safety observationsMaintains Vendor Supplier Portals as it relates to Health and Safety information for regionEducational Qualifications/Job Experience RequirementsExperience:5+ years of progressive Health and Safety Management experience preferredEmployee Health and Safety (EHS)Supply Chain industry experience requiredAmazon experience preferredBilingual English/Spanish preferredIn health care settings, required to maintain up-to-date immunizations and annual flu shotsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent.
