Overview The Offshore Financial Controller serves as a key financial leader responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting accuracy, internal controls, and process optimization across a multi-market luxury short-term rental platform. This role partners closely with executive leadership to ensure reliable financial data, scalable systems, and strong fiscal discipline as the organization grows. The Controller manages month-end close, cash flow oversight, revenue reconciliation, expense control, and financial performance reporting while driving continuous improvement in accounting workflows and controls. This position requires strategic thinking, ownership mentality, and the ability to lead remote accounting operations in a complex, high-volume hospitality environment.Essential FunctionsLead and manage the full month-end and year-end close processMaintain client relationship through responding to financial questionsOversee cash flow management, forecasting, and working capital planningReview and approve revenue, expense, and balance sheet reconciliationsOversee payroll processing controls and financial impact reviewDevelop and implement financial controls, policies, and accounting proceduresPartner with executive leadership on financial strategy and performance analysisAssist in tax planning and coordinate annual tax preparation with external advisorsEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP (or applicable standards) and regulatory requirementsLead accounting system optimization initiativesDesign and improve scalable finance processes for a large property portfolioEnsure financial reporting infrastructure supports operational growthOversee onboarding of new properties from a financial systems perspectiveEnsure records meet audit, investor, and regulatory standardsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred)7–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience3+ years in a senior accounting leadership or controller-level roleExperience supporting U.S.-based companies requiredExperience in hospitality, short-term rental, real estate, or multi-entity environments strongly preferredStrong command of U.S. GAAP and internal control principlesAdvanced expertise in Sage Intacct or similar accounting systemsAdvanced Excel proficiency, including financial modeling and variance analysisExperience leading full month-end and year-end close processesExperience managing cash flow forecasting and working capital planningExperience overseeing multi-state sales tax complianceExperience coordinating annual tax preparation with external advisorsFamiliarity with property management systems (e.g., Guesty or similar) a plusDemonstrated ability to design and improve scalable finance processesStrong written and verbal English communication skillsAbility to maintain consistent overlap with U.S. business hoursDemonstrated leadership, ownership, and strategic financial thinkingHigh level of discretion, accountability, and executive-level partnership capability
