Responsibilities

KEY OBJECTIVES (JOB/WHY DOES THE POSITION EXIST?) Oversee the conversion of raw materials into finished goods using physical resources such as machinery and people. Provide desired utilities to customers while meeting organizational objectives of effectiveness, efficiency, and adaptability. Communicate effectively with management, supervisors, and other employees to achieve short and long-term goals. Overall accountability for the attainment of the daily manufacturing plan within correct quality standards, on time, and in a safe working environment within budget. This includes accurate and timely reporting on daily production planned versus current status. Manage, plan, and utilize resources at optimal efficiency. Formulate, plan, and implement continuous improvement activities and initiatives on an ongoing basis, including troubleshooting and immediate decision-making to ensure targets are met. Implement and enforce safety policies and behaviors throughout the workforce, thereby supporting the overall achievement of stipulated health and safety standards. Oversee all staff and ensure that manufacturing complies with BCEA, Collective Agreements, and OHS legislation. Motivate and lead production staff. Drive operational discipline through housekeeping, lean methodologies, reduction of waste, and 5S efforts. INHERENT JOB REQUIREMENTS - Grade 12 / Matric is essential. - Tertiary qualification in a Production Discipline. - Post Matric Qualification in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, advantageous. - MS Office proficient, particularly in MS Outlook, Word, and advanced Excel. - Syspro knowledge advantageous. - Minimum of 7 years' relevant working experience at a Middle management level within a manufacturing environment. - An in-depth knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
