As a Mechanical Engineer, you will apply your solid understanding of 2d/3d CAD models and will collaborate with teams that are geographically dispersed to design and deploy our robots to customers. Our flexible robots and software will be deployed in a variety of factory conditions and help support the manufacturing operations for some of the biggest names in the industry. If you’re ready to apply exceptional engineering and design practices and deploy products that will define the next generation in manufacturing.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGDesign and engineering of robotic end of arm tooling (EOAT), fixtures and material presentation solutions from concept to detail as part of the microfactory line using SolidWorks CAD software3D print concept parts for engineering evaluationWork within the mechanical engineering team and other engineering disciplines to create a preliminary design concept for EOAT and components with supporting technical information, creating 3D model concepts for customer proposalsLead preliminary and critical design review meetings for internal and external customers for feedback and manage conflict while addressing all concernsSource all required components for manufactured and purchase parts and assemble the robotic cell solution within the program lead-timeSupport other team members (load balance)Work with sales, system engineers and project managers to support robotic EOAT and fixture solutions to meet customer request for quote (RFQ) specificationsMust think safety first for our customers assessing the robotic cell to identify any possible hazards, evaluate risk reduction requirements, and recommend solutions and validationSome travel may be required (10 - 20%) dependent on the size of the deploymentWHAT WE WANT TO SEEProficient with mechanical design software (SolidWorks)Possess strong analytical and technical skills3+ years’ experience (not including internships)Ability to handle multiple projects with shifting priorities and demandsStrong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and present effectivelyProficient in Microsoft Office software applicationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering disciplineIT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HADKnowledge in robotic EOAT / material presentation automated solutionsKnowledge of manufacturing processes and lean practicesKnowledge of programming of 4 and 6 axis robotsWorking knowledge of pneumatic systemsKnowledge of 3D printing solutionsKnowledge of reading electrical schematicsWHO YOU AREYou are customer obsessedYou believe in the power of a team, diversity of thought, and unity of actionYou always act with integrity, keep your commitments, and practice transparencyYou think boldly, lead with courage, and demand the highest standardsYou drive for results and act like an ownerBE EMPOWERED TO CHANGE AN INDUSTRYBright Machines is a next-generation, AI-enabled manufacturer focused on data center infrastructure assembly operations.
