Shipt is seeking a Software Engineer for their Shopper Operations initiatives. The role involves developing smarter ways to connect with shoppers, optimize intelligence, and maximize operational success. The successful candidate will gain experience working with a cross-disciplinary team and receive hands-on mentorship from friendly teammates. Responsibilities include developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining application code, as well as working with a variety of technologies such as Go, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, and Kafka. The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of relevant work experience, programming experience in Golang, Ruby, C, C++, Java, Python, or similar language, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Nice to haves include experience with Golang, Postgres, microservices, non-relational databases, asynchronous/multi-threaded programming patterns, message queuing technologies/strategies, REST principles, and SOA, micro-services, and/or distributed architectures. The work arrangement is full-time with the flexibility to work from home or at a Shipt office in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test (unit/integration/etc), deploy and maintain application code
- Develop multi-region, high performance services to manage shopper data, onboarding, and preferences
- Work with a variety of technologies: Go, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, Kafka and more
- Participate in the design process to build efficient, scalable and maintainable architecture
- Review and collaborate with other engineers on their code
