Greenlight is seeking a motivated Legal & Compliance Intern for the 2026–2027 school year to support our Legal and Compliance team. This role offers hands-on exposure to the regulatory and operational side of fintech, working closely with attorneys and compliance professionals to help ensure Greenlight operates in line with applicable laws and internal standards.Your day-to-day:Monitor and research emerging legal and regulatory developments in the fintech space, including consumer protection, payments, and financial services regulations; summarize findings for the legal/compliance teamOrganize, maintain, and archive company policies and procedures, ensuring documents are current, accessible, and properly version-controlledCompile and analyze data to create reports identifying trends across departments (e.g., customer complaints, operational risk, product changes) that may carry legal or compliance implicationsTest internal systems and workflows to verify compliance controls are functioning as intended, and document/report any issues or gapsReview marketing and advertising materials for legal and regulatory compliance prior to publication or distributionPartner with teams across the company (Product, Marketing, Customer Support, etc.) on compliance-related questions and initiativesAssist with additional legal and compliance tasks and special projects as neededWhat you’ll bring to the team:Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Legal Studies, Political Science, Business, Finance, or a related field (J.D. candidates welcome)Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independentlyInterest in fintech, financial regulation, or consumer protection law is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; familiarity with document management systems a plusPrior internship or coursework in compliance, legal research, or a related area is a plus but not requiredLearning opportunities:Direct exposure to how legal and compliance functions operate within a fast-growing fintech companyMentorship from experienced legal and compliance professionalsPractical experience in regulatory research, policy development, and compliance testingInsight into the intersection of law, technology, and financial servicesWho we are:Greenlight is a family technology company on a mission to help families raise financially smart kids and navigate life together.
