About The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team at Applied Materials. In this role, you will be responsible for driving supplier performance, leading qualification activities, resolving quality issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within our supply chain. Your expertise will ensure that our suppliers meet the stringent quality standards required for high-volume manufacturing of advanced semiconductor and display equipment. You will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of supplier components and processes, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing operations.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a comparable field.Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, preferably in the manufacturing of special purpose machinery or equipment.Proven experience in supplier management and qualification processes.Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering practices, techniques, and methodologies.Ability to interpret and handle technical drawings and specifications confidently.Customer-focused and goal-oriented working style with a strong sense of responsibility.Flexibility and willingness to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.Excellent communication skills in both German and English.Experience with statistical process control, test method implementation, and spare parts management is advantageous.ResponsibilitiesSelection, qualification, and auditing of new and existing suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.Supporting validation of suppliers' series production capabilities through statistical process control and test method implementation.Ensuring suppliers have reliable capacity and infrastructure to support high-volume production demands.Participating in operational and strategic procurement projects, including dual sourcing, change management, and capacity planning initiatives.Leading the technical aspects of product qualification processes for critical modules, ensuring adherence to quality and performance standards.Collaborating with engineering teams to integrate supplier components into new product development (NPI) processes.Supporting supplier quality control management initiatives to continuously improve product standards and reduce defects.Monitoring supplier performance metrics and implementing corrective actions when necessary.Engaging in continuous process improvements to optimize supply chain quality and efficiency.BenefitsApplied Materials offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support our employees' health, wellbeing, and professional growth.
