Job description (main job tasks):
The Training and Placement Officer (TPO) is an essential department of CMR University. It is dedicated to providing training, internship, and placement activities to the students at CMR University. The TPO plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between academic education and the professional world. Its main objective is to facilitate the successful transition of students from the academic environment to the corporate and professional world. It works directly under the supervision of the VC/Management and has the following duties and responsibilities:
1. To be responsible for all activities related to student placement.
2. To coordinate with industries for providing vocational training courses to students.
3. To arrange guest lectures, workshops, seminars, industrial visits, and educational tours for students.
4. To coordinate with different industries for on-campus and off-campus interviews of meritorious students for suitable job opportunities.
5. To be responsible for interaction with industries for the functioning of Employment Development Programs.
6. To establish and maintain strong relationships with industries, companies, organizations, and government bodies to facilitate internships, training programs, and job placements.
7. To assist students in finding suitable internships and training opportunities relevant to their fields of study, providing information about available positions, application procedures, and deadlines.
8. To assist students in securing employment upon graduation by organizing placement drives, job fairs, and campus recruitment events.
9. To provide guidance to students on crafting effective resumes and cover letters, and to offer workshops and seminars on interview skills, communication, and soft skills.
10. To offer personalized career counseling to students, helping them identify strengths, interests, and career aspirations, and guiding career decisions aligned with their goals.
11. To collaborate with departments to identify skill gaps and organize workshops, training sessions, and certification programs to enhance students’ technical and soft skills.
12. To maintain strong connections with alumni to facilitate mentorship, insights, and networking opportunities.
13. To gather data on placements, internships, and career development activities, analyzing trends to measure success and improve services.
14. To stay updated on industry trends, job market dynamics, and emerging sectors to guide students toward in-demand career paths.
15. To nurture relationships with employers, recruiters, and HR professionals to understand hiring needs and align student opportunities accordingly.
16. To organize networking events, seminars, guest lectures, and panel discussions for exposure to real-world work environments.
17. To handle duties related to training and placement activities as directed by the VC or Management.
