About the Role As an Engineering Manager at EnergyCAP, you will lead and support two product engineering teams, creating an environment of trust, clarity, and collaboration where engineers can do their best work. This role is a true people-leadership position—focused on coaching, alignment, and outcomes rather than individual coding—while partnering closely with Product, Architecture, and Engineering leadership to deliver meaningful results for the business. This role is critical to EnergyCAP’s ability to scale product development in a healthy, sustainable way. Acting as a force multiplier, you’ll remove obstacles, reinforce effective ways of working, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration so teams can operate with confidence, predictability, and a sustainable pace. You’ll have a direct impact on team health, delivery quality, and the culture that supports EnergyCAP’s long-term growth.What You’ll DoProvide day-to-day people leadership for two engineering teams, including coaching, 1:1s, feedback, and support for engineers at all levelsPartner closely with Product Management, Architecture, and Technical Leadership to align priorities, planning, and deliveryFacilitate and reinforce effective team practices such as planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvementRemove blockers and address team-level challenges that impact focus, morale, or deliveryOwn hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and promotion recommendations for engineers on your teamsReinforce Agile@EnergyCAP ways of working, collaborating with the Director of Engineering on change initiativesSupport major product initiatives by aligning team execution with technical direction and business prioritiesBuild and mature high-performing, long-lived teams through intentional hiring, onboarding, and team designDrive targeted improvements in delivery, collaboration, and sustainability based on team feedback and outcomesLead resolution of complex team challenges or escalations requiring focused leadership and coordinationWhat You’ll BringExperience leading engineering teams in a product-focused software organizationStrong people leadership skills, including coaching, feedback, performance management, and career developmentAbility to lead empowered product teams through close partnership with Product and ArchitectureSolid understanding of modern software development practices and sustainable deliveryExcellent communication skills, with the ability to surface issues early and align stakeholdersAbility to create trust, psychological safety, and accountability within teamsExperience navigating change and ambiguity with calm, thoughtful judgmentBachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or related fieldPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting teams through organizational or process changeBackground in small to mid-sized companies where adaptability and judgment are essentialAgile, Scrum, or leadership-related certifications (helpful but not required)Pay Range: $115,000 - $130,000 annual base salary with 10% target bonus.
