Requirements and responsibilities

DemandTec is the only AI-powered retail merchandising platform that unifies pricing, promotions, markdowns, and trade funds in a single connected system. With 25 years of demand science, 120+ retail banner customers, and 7,800+ CPG suppliers connected — the largest network of its kind in the industry — we sit at the center of how the world's leading retailers and consumer goods companies make their most consequential commercial decisions. We're in the middle of a deliberate transformation: from best-in-class point solutions to a fully integrated, AI-native decisioning platform. The era of siloed pricing tools and disconnected promotional systems is ending. Retailers need a single platform where price strategy, trade promotion, and markdown decisions are made coherently — informed by the same demand science, governed by the same rules, and increasingly executed by intelligent agents. That's what we're building. The OpportunityThis is the role at the center of that transformation. We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the next generation of DemandTec's Price and Promotion platform — not as two modules that happen to share a roadmap, but as a single connected decision system that fundamentally changes how retailers optimize their commercial position. The opportunity is substantial. Base pricing, trade promotion management, and the retailer-CPG collaboration layer connecting 7,800+ suppliers are all in active evolution. AI agents are replacing manual workflows. Real-time data pipelines are replacing batch decisioning. And the retailers that optimize price and promotion coherently — not sequentially, not in separate tools — will have a structural margin advantage over those that don't.Your mandate is to design and ship the platform that gives them that advantage. What You'll OwnConnected platform strategy and roadmap. Explicit ownership of the seams where pricing decisions meet promotional economics, and where retailer strategy meets CPG trade investment. The AI-native transformation of the pricing and promotion workflow. Agentic decisioning, LLM-powered recommendation engines, real-time promotional optimization, and autonomous pricing agents that act on behalf of category managers. The CPG collaboration layer. The product vision for how 7,800+ CPG suppliers interact with retail buyers — deal lifecycle, trade fund governance, offer negotiation, and the financial accountability layer underneath it all.Success metrics that matter. Pricing effectiveness, promotional ROI, trade fund utilization, and the customer adoption signals that confirm the transformation is landing. What You'll DoDefine and drive product strategy for connected price and promotion optimization, aligned with DemandTec's AI-first transformation and the commercial outcomes our customers care about most.Design agentic pricing and promotional workflows — autonomous pricing agents, real-time promotional scenario modeling, and AI-assisted recommendations that reduce time-to-decision for category managers.Translate complex retail economics — price elasticity, cannibalization, halo effects, trade fund ROI — into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that Engineering can build from.Partner with Data Science to develop and ship ML-powered forecasting, demand modeling, and optimization capabilities that are transparent enough for customers to trust and act on.Work directly with retail and CPG customers to validate product direction, understand how pricing and promotional decisions are actually made, and ensure adoption of new capabilities.Evaluate technical trade-offs and guide architectural decisions for AI-driven systems that must perform at enterprise retail scale — thousands of stores, millions of SKUs, 7,800+ supplier connections.Lead go-to-market planning for major capability launches, including sales enablement, competitive positioning, and post-launch iteration driven by real adoption data.Stay ahead of market trends in AI/ML, retail pricing science, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions.RequirementsRequired5+ years of Product Management experience shipping scalable B2B or enterprise SaaS products, with a track record of measurable customer and business impact.Deep domain expertise in retail pricing optimization AND trade promotion management. You need fluency across both sides of the pricing-to-promotion lifecycle — not just one.Strong command of retail economics: price elasticity, demand forecasting, cannibalization modeling, promotional effectiveness, trade fund governance. You can hold a technical conversation with a Data Scientist and a commercial conversation with a Category Director.Proven ability to translate complex pricing and promotional challenges into precise product requirements and prioritized roadmaps in Agile environments.Direct experience working with enterprise retail or CPG customers — understanding what decisions they're making, what's hard about making them, and what better actually looks like in practice.Excellent communication across functions and levels — aligning engineering, data science, UX, and executive stakeholders around a shared product direction.PreferredExperience building or managing AI-native products, agentic systems, or LLM-powered decision workflows in a retail or CPG context.Hands-on experience with trade promotion management platforms, retailer-CPG collaboration systems, or deductions and fund management workflows.Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (Azure, AWS), microservices, and RESTful APIs — enough to evaluate technical trade-offs with Engineering. Background in category management, pricing science, or demand planning at a retailer or CPG company.MBA or advanced degree in a quantitative field: Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or Operations Research.BenefitsCompetitive Salary & Bonus: Annual discretionary, performance-based bonusHealth & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependentsRetirement: 401(k) with company matchTime Off: Flexible PTO policy + 11 paid company holidaysRemote-First: Work from anywhere in the United States; we're built for distributed teamsGrowth: Annual professional development opportunities for conferences, courses, and certificationsEquipment: Choice of MacBook Pro or Windows PCImpact: Direct influence on a mission-critical platform used by leading global retailersApply for this job
