About Eagle CreekEagle Creek Renewable Energy owns and/or operates 85 hydroelectric facilities throughout the United States and is currently seeking electrical engineering candidates to join a growing, nimble, and diverse team of mechanical and electrical engineers.Remote eligibilityWhile this position is eligible for remote work, we are only considering candidates locating on the east coast or the mid west as heavy travel is expected to a majority of our facilities.Why Eagle Creek?A comprehensive benefits plan: Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, Commuter benefits, Voluntary Life, 401(k) match.Eleven paid holidays per year, plus a competitive PTO schedule and time off to volunteer or give back to your community.Access to a company-funded Employee Assistance Program.Employee discounts through ADP LifeMart.Tuition Reimbursement as well as access to trainings & mentors for Career Progression and Personal Development.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare specifications and other engineering documents to procure and install a wide variety of hydro-electric equipment and systems.Plan and direct hydro-electric equipment installation, assembly, and disassembly.Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.Evaluate, select and specify the components required to refurbish and/or upgrade hydro-electric equipment.Represent the company at shop inspections and factory acceptance tests related to hydro-electric systems.Participate in and direct contractors and hydro project staff at facilities to accomplish equipment repair and upgrades.Provide operations & maintenance recommendations for hydro-electric systems, including (but not limited to) generators, governors, excitation systems, generator circuit breakers, switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers, motors, control boxes, relay panels, lighting systems, power distribution systems and components, instrumentation (level, flow, pressure, temperature, vibration), and diesel engine-generator sets.Manage project implementation and complete projects on time and on budget.Direct contractor resources to execute projects.Serve as the lead technical reviewer on any work designed or scoped by other electrical engineers.Required SkillsKnowledge of electrical safety principles and best practices.Experience troubleshooting issues with operating systems in the field.Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently.Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings including single-line diagram, schematics, block, and wiring among different standards.Knowledge of standards such as IEC, NEC, IEEE, ISO, ANSI, NFPA and ASTM.Previous hands-on experience, including panel building and wiring, including testing (debug), installation and commissioning of electrical equipment in different systems.Experience with troubleshooting and testing tools, such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, process calibrators, megger, and their usage. Auxiliary test equipment like thermal cameras and infrared temperature monitors is an advantage.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Self-starter, motivated and innate drive to succeed.Preferred SkillsAutomation experience, including PLC and HMI, preferably Allen-Bradley and Rockwell. SCADA knowledge is a plus. Controls networks, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet (fundamental).Simple understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and a few mechanical components is a plus.Ability to manage personnel and lead projects to completion.Qualifications / RequirementsBachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or 15+ years of experience).Travel as required for project supervision and execution (~30%).Ability to perform operational tasks, including climbing ladders and being at heights; manipulating various size components from valves to small electrical switches to computer keyboards; handling quick changing situations under stress; and working on or near water.Equal Opportunity EmployerEagle Creek Hydro Operations, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
