It’s an exciting time to join as we expand into new areas of eye care and continue shaping the future of practice management.About the RoleBarti is looking for a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance to help scale the company through its next phase of growth. This role is our first finance hire and will serve as a key business partner to leadership while building the financial infrastructure, planning processes, and operational rigor needed to support a rapidly growing SaaS business.You will lead financial planning and analysis, improve company-wide visibility into business performance, and support strategic decision-making across hiring, go-to-market investments, pricing, and long-term growth planning.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing high-level strategy with day-to-day execution in a fast-moving startup environment. The right person is highly analytical, resourceful, collaborative, and comfortable operating in ambiguity.This role reports directly to the COO.ResponsibilitiesYour primary responsibility is building a scalable finance function that enables strong decision-making and supports the company’s growth. To do this, you will:Financial Planning & Business PartnershipOwn company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processesLead annual planning, including headcount modeling, revenue assumptions, and scenario planningBuild and maintain financial models that support hiring, growth, and operational decision-makingPartner closely with leadership across Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and OperationsHelp leadership evaluate investment tradeoffs across headcount, tooling, and strategic initiativesImprove visibility into business performance through reporting, forecasting, and financial analysisFinancial Operations & InfrastructureImprove financial operating cadence and reporting consistency across the businessEstablish and lead monthly business reviewsStrengthen oversight of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and expense managementPartner with external accounting and finance vendors to ensure reliable financial operationsBuild scalable processes, controls, and systems that support future growthSupport equity grant modeling and compensation planning processesGo-To-Market & Strategic FinanceAct as a finance partner to go-to-market leadership on pricing, forecasting, and growth initiativesPressure test commission plans and incentive structures across Sales and Customer Success teamsImprove financial visibility into customer acquisition, retention, and expansion performanceSupport strategic partnership and expansion modelingBoard & Fundraising SupportPartner with leadership on board reporting and investor materialsImprove financial storytelling and executive-level reportingSupport preparation for future fundraising and long-term capital planningBuild credibility with external stakeholders including investors, auditors, and banking partnersQualifications6+ years in finance, FP&A, or strategic finance roles; investment banking or private equity experience is a plusBackground in high-growth SaaS or investor-backed startup environmentsExposure to fundraising and financial planning processesStrong FP&A, forecasting, and financial modeling capabilitiesProven ability to build scalable processes and operate effectively in ambiguous environmentsStrong business partnership mindset across Revenue Operations, Sales, Marketing, and OperationsAbility to evaluate pricing, GTM investments, and compensation or commission structuresComfortable operating at both a strategic and hands-on levelStrong communication, including presenting financial insights to leadership teams or boardsHigh attention to detail, strong ownership mentality, and pragmatic problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with headcount planning, compensation planning, equity modeling, or board reportingHealthcare, payments, or recurring revenue business model exposure is a plusPerks & BenefitsBe part of a mission-driven, rapidly scaling company changing the future of eye careWork remotely from anywhere in the U.S.Collaborate with a passionate and supportive teamCompetitive salary: $180,000 to $215,000Equity in a fast-growing startupHealth, vision, and dental benefitsUnlimited PTOAnnual professional development stipendA high-impact role with room for growth, ownership, and creativityBarti is an equal opportunity employer.
