About Fireclay PartnersFireclay Partners is a veteran owned middle market M&A and buy side advisory firm based in Kansas City. We serve private equity sponsors and family owned businesses on platform sourcing, bolt on acquisitions, and select sell side mandates. Our model pairs investment banking execution with senior operating expertise, and we bring in industry advisors with deep domain experience to support deal sourcing, due diligence, and sponsor engagement.The RoleWe are building out a bench of senior operators with platform experience in regulated or relationship driven business services. This is a per engagement consulting role, not full time employment. You will partner with the Fireclay team on specific deals where your domain expertise creates value, with engagements typically running three to twelve months on a deal specific basis.We are actively building bench depth across the following subsectors within this role:Specialty insurance and wholesale brokerageWealth management and RIA roll upsSpecialty finance and non bank lendingAccounting, legal, and consulting roll upsMarketing and creative agency consolidationStaffing and workforce solutionsWhat You Will DoProvide market intelligence on bolt on targets, competitive landscape, and valuation context within your subsectorMake introductions to founders, family owners, and senior executives in your existing networkReview confidential information memoranda and management presentations for sector specific operating fit and riskParticipate in PE sponsor pitches when your subsector and operating background are relevantProvide operational due diligence input on target companiesAdvise the Fireclay team on positioning and messaging for sponsor outreach and sourcing campaignsWhat We Are Looking ForPresident, COO, or CEO at a PE backed financial or business services platform, ideally at a consolidator with direct integration experienceFifteen years or more in your subsector with senior operating responsibilityWorking knowledge of the regulatory and economic dynamics in your subsector and direct experience executing or integrating bolt on acquisitionsExisting network of relationships with founders, family owners, senior executives, and PE professionals across your subsectorComfort representing Fireclay professionally to PE sponsors and target company managementDiscretion when handling non public information and competitive intelligenceWillingness to work on a flexible per engagement basis without fixed hours or commitmentsCompensation1099 independent contractor structurePer deal success fees on closed engagements where you contribute meaningfullyOptional retainer for active sourcing assignmentsEquity participation available on select strategic engagementsNo fixed hours or minimum time commitmentLocationRemote. US or Canada based. Travel is minimal and deal specific.
