Requirements and responsibilities
We are looking for a Cloud Architect / DevOps Architect (AWS) to take full ownership of a modern cloud platform. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on designing, building, and scaling secure, production-grade infrastructure.
You will define architecture standards, implement Infrastructure as Code, and enable fast, reliable delivery across engineering teams. This role requires strong ownership, independent decision-making, and a pragmatic mindset.
Languages:
- English: C1+ (Advanced).
- Russian: C1 (Required for internal team communication).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and govern scalable, secure AWS cloud architecture.
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform (IaC).
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
- Implement and operate Kubernetes platforms (EKS/ECS).
- Enable multi-environment deployments (dev, staging, production).
- Establish monitoring, logging, and observability standards.
- Define SLIs/SLOs and ensure system reliability.
- Implement security best practices (IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, GuardDuty, Security Hub).
- Design networking and integration solutions (SSO, private networking).
- Create reusable infrastructure modules and templates.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support scalability and delivery.
- Document architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement and platform standardization.
Key Deliverables:
- Cloud Architecture Documentation.
- Architecture Decision Records (ADR).
- Terraform modules and IaC repositories.
- CI/CD pipeline templates.
- Deployment and environment runbooks.
- Security and compliance artifacts.
- Monitoring dashboards and alerting systems.
- Operational readiness checklists.
- Incident postmortems (when applicable).
Requirements:
Experience:
- 8+ years in cloud infrastructure (AWS).
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes & containerized systems.
- Proven experience with CI/CD and automation.
- Experience in high-reliability production environments.
- Background in security and compliance implementation.
Technical Skills:
- AWS: EKS, ECS, IAM, VPC, KMS, CloudWatch, Security Hub, GuardDuty.
- Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
- CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions preferred).
- Kubernetes (KEDA, Karpenter — plus).
- Monitoring & observability (CloudWatch, Grafana).
- Messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ — plus).
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- AWS certification (preferred).
Soft Skills:
- Strong ownership and accountability.
- Ability to work independently and make architectural decisions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Cross-team collaboration and alignment.
- Strong problem-solving mindset under pressure.
