We’re providing scalable infrastructure and no-code visualization tools to companies across aerospace, aviation, defense, energy, and transportation sectors.ABOUT THE ROLE:5+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineeringExperience designing and building large-scale, distributed systems or web applications using Go, Python, or an equivalent languageUnderstanding of DevOps principles; version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment and monitoringExperience with relational and non-relational databases, e.g. PostgreSQL, Druid, Pinot, Timescale, or similar is a plusFront-end experience in React or a similar JavaScript framework is a plusSelf-starter, able to navigate ambiguity and changing prioritiesTeam player with excellent communication skills and a collaborative work ethicBachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, physics, or STEM disciplineKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and build a high-performance, scalable, end-to-end data platform for hardware engineeringDesign and build a delightful user interface for visualizing and transforming millions of data pointsWork closely with customers, including hardware engineers, to understand their problems and find efficient solutionsHelp define engineering culture, standards, and processesCollaborate with peers on architecture, design, and code reviewsLOCATION:Sift headquarters is located in Los Angeles (El Segundo), and we work in a hybrid environment. We work closely with hardware companies building everything from autonomous vehicles to spacecraft, and many of them are based in L.A.
