You will partner closely with Product Owners, Engineering, and the Insights team to design intuitive, coherent journeys that support complex interconnection and planning activities between and across diverse customer segments.This role is foundational to GridUnity’s product strategy as we continue to productize and scale our platform while driving innovation and AI-persona-based assistance and automation into the highly regulated and operationally complex customer environments serving the energy sector.You will report to the Director of Product Management and work as a core member of the Portfolio team.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn UX quality, coherence, and platform consistencyOwn the definition and evolution of the user experience across GridUnity’s platform, ensuring clarity, usability, and consistency across technologies, features, workflows, and shared platform patterns.Establish and maintain UX patterns, interaction models, and design standards that support product scalability and reuse and development speed.Serve as the primary steward of UX standards and best practices, enabling consistent, high-quality experiences across teams and product areas.Define and track UX success metrics, using qualitative and quantitative insights to evaluate experience quality and inform continuous improvement.Communicate UX insights, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership to inform product decisions.Translate insights into experiencesPartner with Product Owners to translate product strategy, roadmap priorities, and requirements into clear user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.Collaborate with the Insights team to incorporate market, regulatory, and Voice of Customer insights into experience design.Lead user-centered discovery and risk identificationPlan and conduct user research (e.g., interviews, workflow walkthroughs, usability testing) to validate assumptions and uncover UX risks and opportunities, with an emphasis on real-world workflows, edge cases, and operational constraints.Synthesize findings into actionable design recommendations that inform product decisions.Partner through delivery and implementationWork closely with Engineering to ensure designs are feasible, well understood, and faithfully implemented, including consideration of edge cases, error states, data availability, permissions, and system constraints.Support iterative delivery through design reviews, feedback cycles, and post-release UX evaluation.Support platform evolution and long-term UX integrityHelp guide UX decisions during platform transitions and major product evolution, ensuring continuity for users while strengthening long-term platform usability and coherence.Balance configurability and standardization to support GridUnity’s productized approach.Ensure platform longevity through documentation, guides, and best practices.WHAT YOU’LL BRING4+ years of experience designing user experiences for complex B2B or enterprise softwareStrong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX work (research, flows, interaction design, and delivered product)Experience working closely with Product Management and Engineering in an Agile environmentAbility to design for complex workflows, data-heavy interfaces, and expert usersExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain and defend design decisions using evidenceWHAT WILL SET YOU APARTExperience designing products for regulated industries (energy, utilities, infrastructure, government, or similar)Familiarity with SaaS platforms that balance standardization with customer-specific configurationExperience supporting platform migrations or major product evolutionsComfort operating in a fast-moving, scaling organization where processes are still being shapedOUR CULTUREWe are a lean, fast-moving team that values bold thinking, reliability, and continuous learning.
